Going Rafting!!!!

woot woot!! Cant wait. Company is sending me up north to go white water rafting and lodging at a beautiful lodge cabin apartment. All paid!!! even taken a party bus up!! Cant frickin wait!!! yeeeeah. Dam being released too, BIG rapids... SWEET!

What river(s) are you doing?

I just went last weekend, did the Dead river. It was my third trip, it's a lot of fun.

Did the Kennebec with Northern Outdoors. My 2nd time down that river but this time with 8000 pci!!!! Unreal trip, Got the front of the raft and nailed Big Mama and Maytag like a pro... It was so much fun... rain and all we had a blast!

The vendor paying for the trip went all out on us. Open Bars, Huge Cabins, All the beer you can drink. I spent about $1 for a power aid the whole weekend.

I'm hitting the Dead next year. I've been wanting to hit that river for years now. I wont have any river pics to post till later since I couldn't bring my own camera on the raft. I have some others that I will be going through tonight which I'll post if there are any good ones.

oh yeah, and anyone looking for recommendations on whom to go with for rafting company; Northern Outdoors was the bomb!!!

When I did the dead couple weekends ago it was only 3500...sounds like you had some great rapids.

You should do the Penobscot next if you haven't already...couple of class 5's, pretty insane.

That's what I've been hearing. Kennbec can be dissapointing on expectations since the best rapids are in the beginning. I hear the penobscot is pretty spread out.

Long ride up there but totally worth it!

They release the deerfield in north/western mass (off of 91, north of springfield), shouldn't be to far for alot of you and it's really fun! The dragons tooth is a sweet rapid.

I did the Penobscot a couple months ago... I was actually pretty disappointed. First rapid of the day was the best, after that it would be paddle for 1 hours for a 30-second rapid! And they weren't even that good.
