    What a finish today, 1 / 2 / 3 stage finish from the 1 / 2 / 3 GC contenders

Best / most exciting tour I've seen in several years, new group of younger riders really dominating.

a repeat today, identical 1/2/3 results...

Tadej appears to be the "Real Deal", absolute KILLER at the end of these last 2 mountain stages!! Looks like 3 jerseys again this year...

The 2016 Trek Edmonds SL6 has a new stablemate.

A Cannondale Quick 4 1x9, simple and comfy, perfect for around town and fire roads while the Trea stays up in Maine.

Nothing fancy or expensive, just easy.

2 old Cannondales and a Boy’s Trek mountains bike made there wi]ay to bikesnotbombs as a donation.

    Re: Official non-motorized motorcycle thread.

What do you guys use (if anything) to navigate when riding MTBs?

Last year, with my old Edge 510, I recorded (with Strava) a ride on my MTB that started on a main road and ended up on a series of off-road trails. I wanted to do that exact same route again so I found the ride in my Garmin Connect history. I converted it to a course, sent it to my device, and loaded it up on my new Edge 1030. Then I headed off on the ride by loading the course on the Edge and starting from home.

It worked fine for a couple of miles when I was riding on the road. But as soon as I got to the trailhead, the Edge kinda freaked out: it told me to do a u-turn back to the main road, and once I got there it stopped giving me useful navigation routes.

What I wanted was for it to "replay" my existing ride and, once I was off road, show me the path I took last year so that I could follow it on a new ride. Is that something that the Edge is supposed to support when riding off road? I think part of the trouble is that the map didn't show the trails at all; it either showed the main road or nothing at all. What am I doing wrong here? Or should I just switch to RideWithGPS or something?

I record my trail rides/Strava with a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt and if I get lost I whip out my phone and open Trailforks.

When you make a route from a ride, it isn't clean. Mostly because there is noise when it records, and it tries to turn that noise into turn by turn directions and fails. Best way to use that type of route is to follow the line on the map and don't pay attention to the turn by turn.

I make my routes with www.ridewithgps.com
If I want to re-do a route I (or a friend) just rode, I upload the ride file to ridewithGPS, then I add control points all over and and I have to "re-snap" them to the map. It will make more sense once you play with it.

If you toggle between roads, open street maps, and open cycling maps, it has almost every trail. If it won't snap where you want it to go, you use the "draw lines" option and just DIY to get through the section it doesn't recognize and then go back to the follow roads. Again, will make more sense once you use it a bit.

I do what Jay said. I'm also not a huge Garmin computer fan. Wahoo bro here. Uploading courses to Garmin was always a pain in the ass until they fixed it super recently. I don't usually use turn by turn though. The computer will tell me if I'm off track though.

I pay for trailforks, but lately I've been using strava with the heatmap overlaid as a layer. It's got all the secret stuff they don't want on trailforks.

I just paid for Trailforks, but haven't used it yet. Tell me more about this Strava sorcery..?

I use the strava heatmap as well. Also love the strava routes function on mobile for automatic route creation. I only use it for road rides though, I don't think it's really capable for dirt.
