IT was just silly on the track.
My instructor the second day drove I Porsche GT3 and he was blown away by the power and grip levels.
His exact words: "Well, if you ever wondered...... YES, you CAN spin all 4 tires in 4TH GEAR WITH RACE TIRES"
by fast, I mean we were going scary fast.
It was my first track day (I auto-x a lot) and the organizers were concerned about a noob in such a car.
i impressed everyone so much the flagger waved me over. I thought I was in trouble, or was leaking...
He said the corner workes called in to say I was doing AM<AZING and they the car was ridiculously fast. It gave me goosebumps.
That's pretty sick, bro.
Ie30 M3's .... oh yeah, & STi's, too

What do bikes run there? I dont have an exact time.... I ran into a lot of traffic, and of course my good runs where i could actually complete a lap without traffic I didnt have my camera on.
Slower laps were around 1:30, I think my fastest laps were pushing just sub 1:20
top speed at the end of the straight into turn 1 was 135-140 i think, nearing the top of 5th
Pretty sure we run the exact same layout as the bikes.chicanes on both ends
so what do bikes run?
Not bad, so Im 4 seconds ish off the fast bikes
I didn't think the cars run the 12 chicane, and instead head up towards the pits more?
Very cool, I'd like to get up there and watch that sometime!
Between 12 and Pit In, we stay left, do you guys do that little jog to the right?

that would make sense so that you arent pushing out to the concrete wall so hard, climbing past 100 with a slight 4 wheel drift out to that wall was VERY scary.
like that, but with out the banked oval usage on the right, we use the chicane.
Yep, the bikes do the right/left chicane before hitting the straight. I would assume to keep the top speeds down, and help stay away from the wall on the entry to the straight.
I come off 12 with some motherfucking speeeeeeeeeeed
It's funny how much less dynamic photos of cars going fast are than photos of motorcycles going fast.
God I love bikes.

Stop putting those ripples in the pavement!
What group was this with? I'll have to try and get up to watch/listen next year.
Right, as has already been stated, we run the TIGHT chicane just before the front straight.
Your turn 11 is our no-turn since it's a straight line for us 2 wheelers...
Your turn 12 is our turn 11
And the chicane is 11a/12 (or 12/12a depending on who you talk to).
If we used the same exact course as you guys ran the big boy bikes would be doin about 160 going into turn 1 with the NASCAR turn 1 wall comin up awfully fast. Turn 1 was already changed back in the late 90's I believe for the bikes because there were some pretty significant injuries caused by that NASCAR turn 1 wall.

I have the video ready, but it is 50 mb
Yea I've seen cars up there doing the non-tight 12/12A and they go SOOOO much faster onto the front straight and outta 11 as a result. If bikes did that (it's be crazy dangerous) we'd all probably drop at least 3 seconds easy. Probably more like 5 or 6.
Boston --> San Diego
How much was it? What are the requirements for the car / driver? Do they allow any type of car as long as it fulfills the tech requirements?
