Latest project, well winter of 2021/2022 anyways.

Been itching for a project for a while now that the garage is done. I had picked up a 1987 c10 square body shortbed about a month ago and thought that would be my winter project. I got a stupid offer on it and sold it for double what I paid without putting a dime into it.
Yesterday I picked up a 1992 square body s10 shortbed with one of the best looking paint patinas I have ever seen. The body needs some tlc, but I have no plans to paint it.
As it sits, it has a bad frame, but I already have a spare frame with no rust at all.
My plan is to clean up the new frame, underside of the bed and cab, and find an 8.1L big block/4L80 transmission combo for it. Iíll spend the summer sourcing parts, and hopefully finish it by next spring.
Iíve already got a bunch of s10 parts from past projects, front lowering spindles, rear lowering blocks, tubular front suspension, etc.
If I canít find an Allison transmission, Iím going to keep the 5speed stick in it now

I don't see the attraction but to each his own.. What makes the SQ body a thing to have?

Simple classic style for starts, and knowing you’ll get double or triple return on your time and investment is always a bonus.

we have extremely similar tastes sad to hear the '87 went bye, bye but def approve of the replacement ... especially the words 'lowering' in the parts list ... love the shit out of this already, bravvoh.

It was a great start to a project and already had been lowered the correct way and had all the premium factory options. It was actually the GMC Sierra, not the C10.. tho technically the same truck.

As long as there’s a doner chassis, how about a C6 doner chassis?

Took the donor frame truck apart, stripped the frame of everything removable and started to clean it up. There was minimal surface rust, and I just used a wire cone with the small grinder. Degreased it and power washed everything.

The truck with the donor frame , and several other parts needed for this project.

Yes, full frame. It's a pretty heavy duty frame considering the size of the truck.
