Just need a minute to vent... nothing more.
Spent the last two & 1/2 fucking hours outside fixing my fuckin car... yeah... it's almost 2:30 am so if you assume it wasn't exactly part of my plan when I woke up this morning you'd be right...
So the story begins by saying my car is out of inspection... where i had it parked the last few days i was getting tickets from fucking meter maids at 20 bucks a pop for an out of date inspection. Got one Thursday & Friday (had no fuckin time to move it to a place where they won't pull that lame shit)
over the weekend, there's no meter maids so i went on w/ business as usual.
Tonight I get back from a less than spectacular day at Killington (snow conditions wise)... took my friend's car... finally as i'm about to get ready for bed tonight around 11:30 I was like "fuck, i gotta move my car"... Go out to the thing & the right front tire is fuckin flat.... pain in the ass, but fixable, right? Yeah, well not when the fucking wheel is frozen solid to the wheel hub.
I kick that piece of shit every which way, finally walk 3 blocks all the way back to my appartment, grab a crow bar & some penetrating oil, walk 3 blocks back, spray the thing down, wait a while, beat the shit out of it again, no dice...
Ok, fuck it... i'll pump it up, hopfully it's a slow leak, i can drive it to where i can leave it w/o worrying about it & deal w/ it later... Walk back to the appartment, only thing I have is a fuckin bicycle pump... fuck it... I grab it, walk back... i'm out there w/ the fuckin thing for 20 minutes to 1/2 an hour, thing's not holding air... bullshit...
Start kicking the fuck out of the thing again, still no dice.... go at it w/ the pry bar - nothin...
Fuck this shit, I'm goin to bed. I'm sure i'll see another fuckin 20 dollar ticket as i'm WALKING past my car on my way to taking public transportatoin to fuckin work
Oh, and those two tickets I already got... I left em on the car & now they're gone

That sucks... nothing feels as good as a few more kicks in the ribs when your on the ground.![]()
Did you try the propane torch method on the rim. Works on my old VW when the rim "bonds" to the hub. Then make sure to put some anti-seize (lightly) where it was catching.

To dislodge a stuck wheel I find it helpful to use a long 2x4 or like object to strike the tire itself on edge 45 deg. 3-4 foot length works wonders, doesn't damage the rim or the tire. That plus penetrating fluid works well for me.

hopefully by wed night i'll have a new car.... nuttin spectacular, daewoo nubira 2000, oh yea i'm pimpin it now![]()
Once I had a rim that was so frozen to the hub that I loosened the lug nuts about a quarter inch and drove in my driveway taking sharp curves before it broke loose!
+10,000 for putting anti-seize on the hub where it sticks.
Also don't forget to put a little bit on your studs. Saves a lot of wear and tear on the wrenches and elbow grease.
Never had that problem after I started doing that.
Actually, it was pretty damned cool!Originally posted by OreoGaborio
so how was YOUR fuckin Sunday night?
After working the day/afternoon shift at the bar, my family showed up for dinner. I was just about to clock out, just taking out garbage and re-stocking for the night shift. Look up to see Big Shirl and the girls come beebopping in...
So we had dinner there, played some pool, got to intro my family to summa my regulars (Tovah was the hit of the place, of course), and had a delicious cocktail to wash down dinn-dinn...
After we got the girls ready for bed, handed off bed-time and babysitting detail to the teenager and went to a friends to play pool and have some drinks...
Had a great time after a long-ass weekend of working...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
You can just loosen the lug nuts and do a panic stop from 20 MPH too.Originally posted by Currently

i did kinda do that, but i only moved about 20 feet, but it's an expensive snowtire that's pretty hard to find. i didn't wanna ruin the tire if i can find a way to save it.Originally posted by Currently

I usually just take a rubber mallet and beat the ever loving piss out of the tire until the rim breaks free from the hub.
A 3lb sledge works wonders too.
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
My sunday night was much nicer than my sunday. I had recovered from my saturday nights drinking adventures enough to keep food down finally. It was a rough day and i went to bed REAL early for me!!!
an aside from something i recently learned the hard way for Pete's edification,
Hit the BACK of the tire! Makes a world of difference!

The question wasn't how to loosen his damned tire. The question was how was your Sunday night.
You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.

although I do appreciate the advice, I did what what in my capability of doing & it didn't work... i don't have any 2x4's, no rubber mallet, no way of getting under the car to hit the backside of the rim... just needed to vent cuz i was so fucking pissed last night.
i'm gonna check w/ AAA & possibly have it towed to my parents house where they can friggin deal w/ it![]()

Uh, my weekend was pretty good. Drank a bunch of margaritas at Margaritas in Manchester. They were delicious.

You would be correct, sir. I answered the only question he asked. And he DID ask..Originally posted by dhuze
