So no one knows what it looks like but the rendering isn’t good?

The actual vehicle is still being camouflaged.

Ford Authority usually has best info.

    Early sighting.

    Later, less camo.

The quality of the rendering is what I'm talking about. It looks like a cartoon. Look at the roof rails, bed and rear bumper. It's cell shaded from the rear door back. The Maverick logo is particularly bad, too.

The Maverick definitely has my attention. The unibody doesn't bother me, but I know they'll never make a 2 door version with a decent size bed and a manual transmission rather than an SUV with a decorative open back. They'll pry my old ranger from my cold dead hands.

But bro. You aren't supposed to enjoy driving vehicles. And you can't commute with a stick. It's miserable. An EV is the only answer. Just get a tesla. It might be really expensive but at least it also has terrible fit and finish as well as reliability!

Have a number of friends with Tesla S and they’ve been pretty happy. Tesla X owner, though, has had a lot of problems.

One of the S owners lives in NJ. His parents live in Portsmouth, NH. He would drive to a SuperCharge station in CT and spend 40 minutes there, then drive the rest of the way up. But coming back he’d have to do the same thing. Plug in hybrids make a lot more sense to my mind.

as much as i depise elon and the company, the way theu have gotten people to consider evs is amazing. i also have to give them credit with the supercharger network, here is a company that came out of nowhere that has made long range ev travel possible. as a non tesla owner the ev charging systems in southern ct are a fucking joke, and limit long distance driving with the bolt. (yes one could do it, but for me its not worth the stress and inconvenience to try and take that long drive.)

I've driven 3 teslas and really enjoyed each of them. totally different beast, but when prices come down I could totally see myself getting one and enjoying it. I would love a Rivian if they weren't substantially more than my net worth, but with all things prices should come down with time. I'm keeping the manual shift gassers around though, I've had that ranger for 13 years now and it doesn't owe me anything. been commuted for like 180k while I've owned it. well over 200k on the clock now and every panel is dented and peeling, but it still does what I need it to.

Which year? The 73 models (I think) had a gasoline-powered heater in the glove compartment! My father-in-law has one, it's surprisingly fun to drive. I'd be shocked if it had 50hp...

my older brother used to race NASCAR Mini Stock Division, don't think it exists anymore, it was basically entry level hobby division, mostly Beetles, I remember a Ford Cortina as a regular, maybe an Renault or 2, my brother built a VW Fastback, it had important advantages over the Beetle, like lighter flywheel, and dual carbs stock depending on model year. He had the heads fly cut so deep, he had to notch the pistons, and run av gas, his theory was that the engine only had to make it thru a few practice laps, a heat race or 2, and the feature race, maybe 50 miles total, but usually closer to 35 miles, then rebuilt for the next race, we always had a spare engine ready to go, in fact changed one in a road race at Sanair speedway in St. Pie, Que, engine swap took about the same amount of time as a multiple tire change, quick enough that we didn't lose a lap.

They’re selling for $25,000 and up. Some VW vans are selling for over $100,000.

    I WANT THE MAVERICK

That’s the “truck” I’ve been waiting for

    -4 door
    -37mpg hybrid mixed/40mpg city
-super short bed that generally makes it easy to park in SoCal's tiny ass "planned community"/undersized garages/mega mall parking spots
-*just* long enough with the tailgate down to carry a Dirtbike at 6'

    Starting $20k!

Oddly enough I could probably sell my ‘01 for $5k

It finally has the gas mileage to justify. I think they’ll sell all of them.

No fucking way are those really going to be $20k out the door.

Starting at 20K means 40K as configured on the lot.....

Re: Is a ridgeline a pickup?

I was curious if the interior space is gonna be cramped when it's 2.3" skinnier than a Ranger and 2-1/2' shorter than an F150, but honestly the dimensions are somewhat reminiscent of the 99-03 camry my parents had. Midsize car interior space. I fit pretty comfortably in a camry/altima, etc. I'm 6'/138lbs
-1.5" more rear legroom than the ranger
-1.3" more rear headroom than the ranger, although it sits lower

FWD paired w' hybrid standard/2.0 Ecoboost paired w' FWD w' AWD optional

but I'm looking at some dimensions fitting the YZ in the bed...6' may not be enough going straight back...I may need to go diagonally...mine is currently 80"...this one is a wee bit short at 72"

$21k after destination charges for the stripper model, and I'd likely be looking at an XLT, so budget another few G's to get the extra safety feature package (lane keep assist, driver alert, etc.), bed liner, tri-fold hard cover, bed lighting, protective film, trailer hitch receiver w' connector, sliding rear glass, moon roof, and full size spare, and power seats/key fob/remote start. The $2,345 XLT package has most of it.

From what I've read the ~40MPG is with the FWD/hybrid setup. AWD gets a turbo (hybrid?) which likely brings the MPG down and I'm sure AWD only comes in a higher trim level.

Ford definitely thought this out much better than Hyundai IMO. I could see myself owning a base model.

New Tundra is coming. Probably a turbo 6 and a hybrid. I'd much rather a Yota. It will be interesting to see where MPG and towing lands. 4k from the Ford is pretty weak

I'd argue 4k towing is pretty good for a compact "truck" rated at 40mpg and ~$20k MSRP....

Perhaps. 4k renders it useless for me though, so I'm gonna bash it
