    Rosetta Stone

Anyone use it? Is it worth it? Anyone want to sell me their Spanish one??

I figure, since the majority of my patient population speaks spanish, I might as well too so I can get more stuff done faster!

This is what I know: "Tiene dolor?"

I have a copy, seems easy enough to learn? I only did the first level; keep meaning to complete it. I remember the important stuff:

Yes, Rosetta stone will help you learn spanish. If you practice at work plus use the software a little each day, it won't take too long to get functional medical spanish going. My wife taught herself that exact way...

I was a language teacher (spanish/english) for 12 years and I endorse this product (lol). You have to talk back to it for full effect, and pratice in real situations, but it speeds things up for sure.

The next break I take from school I think I may try this out. I've always regretted not learning Portuguese from my family.

Check out http://www.livemocha.com/. It's free and similar to Rosetta Stone. Just like all language software you need to use it and practice at least a little every day.

I tried Rosetta Stone for mandarin Chinese a few years back. It didn't work out. Work sent me to Berlitz classes in Boston for a few years. Worked well but is much more expensive.

    Re: Rosetta Stone

Cool- I'll try that live mocha as well. Heard great things about Rosetta, thanks Bansh!

Doc, I tried to re-join the AF they didn't want me because of my knee injury years ago (bastards!). That was the reserves.

I could go AD but not until May 2011 and I've found other great things in my life, so I think the military is something of my past, although I wish I could still join reserve life!
