    Problem with comcast

    Anyone else here having a problem wiht comcast or is it just me? Looks like both their primary and secondary DNS server is down. Neither is responding to dns queries, but I am able to ssh into my work server by IP (hence the typos, damn xterm is kinda slow over le intarweb)

    Pissy thing is, pieece of junk router won't let me manully confiugre DNS, it has to be done via DHCP : Ishould I set the building on fire.

    Yup, just having the same problems for a bit...

    primary and secondary dns shit the bed, dunno what was goin down.

    Yup. Here too. And and my buddy's place. And at another buddy's place.

    I figured a DNS flush would do it, but it was worthless.

    Comcrap sucks.

    I have lots of beer. I am drinking it.

    I went to "work" last night and returned with 4 cases. I needed a dolly to carry it all out. We have 1 fridge filled with just beer and one more fridge 1/3 filled with beer. Full sized fridges too!

    Who wants beer? You gotta come get it yourself, I ain't drivin it!

    I'm gunna go cover my bike up so the local hoodlums don't put thier penis' on the tank. It happened at Stonnerstock and I haven't left it uncovered at night since. It also burns when I drain the oil....

    Found something on the Comcast site, when I was able to get there about a national outage do to server(s) failure.

    Idiots. How many millions of customers do they have? It should take several well placed nuclear blasts to cause a national outage.

    I wonder if they had both the primary and secondary DNS IPs mapped to the same box

    It's actually a non-malicious hardware issue.

    Change your DNS server settings in your router to 4.1.1.1 and 4.2.2.2. Should work fine after that.

    I'm happy to hear that paying $42 a month for internet equals downtime lasting for hours when it's time to upgrade their hardware.
