Re: New Truck thoughts and private party sale

KBB gave me an offer of $29,200 for my 2020 Subaru. $1,500 higher than Carvana and $750 higher than 2 weeks ago. I was contacted by a small dealer 4 miles from my house within a day and sold it today. it was easy peasy. IMO well worth not hassling with a private party sale for marginally higher (maybe) money.

The dealer told me he's wholesaling cars to bigger dealers for more than retail customers think they should pay. The market is a little nuts right now.

This is all part of a lifestyle containment strategy related to my "retirement" from teaching.

    2. Thoughts on selling a 2020 Subaru privately. The motivation to sell privately is that it has an extended warranty which is only transferable through private sale. The used market is hot, and if it werenít for the extended warranty, Iíd probably be happy selling it to a dealer for a little more than the kbb cash offer price. Trying to avoid ďasshole hassleĒ of private sale, though.

    1. actual data:

    2. ebay auction, set reserve to kbb+fees.
