This. I think Walmart sells a kit with fryer, stand, and peanut oil.

Back in 2014, the Weber saved Thanksgiving when a bad snow storm knocked power out. I cut up the raw turkey and grilled it. Boiled potatoes on the side burner which everyone told me I would never use. Even had an old Coleman stove running to heat up other items. Dinner was served by candlelight with the wood stove keeping everyone warm. My 20lbs cylinder was empty but the hose was long enough to reach my 40lbs cylinder sitting outside the cabinet.

Who are all these people who never use the side burner? If I could find a decent grill with two I’d buy that

Everyone and their mother tried to talk me out of getting one (including sales people). When you are talking Weber money, it really wasn't that much more to get it. I wouldn't say I use it regularly but I've certainly gotten my money's worth.

The 40 lb cylinder is also huge. We grill a lot, year round, and only have to do three refills.

In 2008 I bought a used Weber Summit off of some guy on craigslist. That grill gets used about 100 times each and every year. Its survived dozens of cookouts, 3 or 4 tip-overs into concrete, rain, snow, hail, and 3 moves. It works as good as when I got it, minus a somewhat sticky knob. Everyone laughed when I spent that much cash buying a used grill, but its doing just fine right now and I plan on grilling up some burgers this weekend. Buy it a King Kong grill cover and it will last this long for you too.

Current Grill is a a Sunbeam from either Caldor's or Bradlys'. Yea that old! 30+ The plastic wheels have since disintegrated and i'll replace the burners and lavarock maybe every 2-3 years. The shell is some cast alu and is not going anywhere soon. Still have the original controls

    Been eyeing:

Yeah I'll stick to a skillet and a mesh cover. Also helps to lubricate the cast iron for whatever I'm cooking in it after the bacon.

I had a friend who ALLLEGEDLY would stroll into both Caldor and Bradlees, grab something (like a microwave) from their stock room and walk it up to the counter to return for cash. Ah, the good old days!

A kid I grew up with used to steal beer like that. He would walk into a grocery store and grab 2 30 packs and walk straight out of the store. Never got stopped or questioned.

Re: Are Weber Grills really the shit ?

i picked up a weber spirit e-210 in stainless a few years ago and i love it...its the version with the 2 folding sides on casters...i fold the sides down and wheel it into the garage so i don't have to cover it...fits right in the space between the 2 garage doors...just have to pull a car in a little deeper to get it out sometimes...i added a weber tilt sensor handle light...the only things i would change are the casters...i like the 2 big wheels and the 2 legs better...easier to roll over the lip at my garage opening...i was coming from an old inherited cast aluminum FALCON MARK 4 grill which i loved but it didn't burn evenly and i didn't want to rebuild it so this was a big upgrade for me...the parts availability and the warranty are big in my book cause i don't want to have to buy another for a long time

Re: Are Weber Grills really the shit ?

The Weber grill does seem to hold up well. I just replaced the flavor bars and grilling rack after what has to be 20 years on an old Spirit 3XX. Bought the flavor bars on Amazon and replaced the chipped / corroded gating with Grill Grates extruded aluminum grates. Love em.

If I were in the market for a new grill the only thing I'd prefer to what I have is the burners orientation. My Sprit has the 3 burners orientated left to right. I'd rather have the same 3 burners but orientated front to back. That would make it easier the move food from the hot area to a warming area of the grill.
