I'm looking at a new bike and unfortunately that means I have to part with this beauty.
The Ducati pulls 92-94 horsepower on the dyno, has a torque curve as
flat as Kansas and weighs less than 400 pounds In 2008, mid-to-low 1:18's were typical from original owner who was an Expert racer. I've not gotten it going that fast, but I'm still a Novice.
The motorcycle was purchased new in '05 and raced '06-'09 and '11 by me.
Here's the good stuff:
All race prep by Kyle Thompson, top mechanic/racer at BCM. rebuilt motor with 1080cc cylinder kit in '07, ported heads. transmission undercut and magnafluxed, Sprag clutch.
Suspension setup and service by GMD Computrack (Peter Kates and Mike
Martire)
Forks are OE (external rebound, compression and preload controls) with
Race-Tech cartridge emulators
Rear is OE (Ohlins remote reservoir shock with external rebound, compression and preload controls)
OE wheels with recent Ducati OE steel brake rotors (front)
Sil-motor slip-on's over OE exhaust pipes. Slight road rash included.
Full Sharkskins.
Woodcraft rearsets and clip-ons.
All belts, gaskets, fluids and tuning completed annually on the engine and suspension by a for mentioned shops.
This is a "ready-to-race" package. Bike could be returned to the street. All original wiring and set up are in tact. I'll likely throw in a few goodies laying around my shop.
No I am not leaving racing, just a new opportunity is presenting itself. If the other bike sells before this Ducati is sold I will pull this off the market. With all due respect to my SV competitors, this bike will out drag race any Suzuki 650. If you'd like to see it, I'll be racing October 15 & 16 and attending Penguin on the 14th. I'm in Garage #17. PM if you have any questions or want to see it. Thanks for looking...and no I won't tell you what bike I'm looking at! I still have to race most of you. $6200
