    2006 Ninja 250

Helping my cousin off load her ninja 250. It sat for about 3 years in a heated basement before I cleaned it up this weekend.

The bike itself is in impeccable shape with a few very minor marks. It’s having some weird issue of a non predictable spike in the idle to about 5k then returns to normal. I’ve had enough with it and just want to see it gone. Will need a set of tires for sure.

Bike has about 3200mi. With the market so crazy I have it on FB for $2500 per their request but if someone is interested I bet they would be more than happy with $2k and I can help with delivery at fuel costs.

Bike is located in Woburn. I can throw in a magnetic tank bag and some universal canvas saddle bags for an extra $100.

    Re: 2006 Ninja 250

A undumped, intact fairing ninja 250 is a rare thing.

The surge at idle is likely idle jet, possible tight valve.

    Good luck!

Thanks for sharing a cheaper bike on my ad. Hopefully the tires have their beads set on them

Gorgeous little bike. Shocked someone hasn't grabbed it already. Worth that all day long in my mind.

She is in good hands! Glad to meet you Kurt though the heavens decided to open up at the same time.

Will have to check back in when you get her running and will drop off the tank bag when things dry up.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the rapid transit of the bike last night, Christian, I didn't have to lift a finger, and there it was, parked in my garage. Sure is pretty.

I already have one question for you lol

    Kurt

I mean, congrats on the sale to the OP and everything… but I can’t believe you swapped a Hypermotard for this

There's no accounting for taste, right?

Comes down to money -- the cost of getting three Ducatis serviced this winter ... $2500 +/- prolly. This pathetic old retired guy on a pitiful fixed income can't do Ducs anymore. I had my fun, now it's someone else's turn.

My Guzzis are DIY service, same with the Kawasakis.

And I wanted the experience of riding a slow bike fast.

But please tell us some of your life decisions so we can critique them.

    Re: 2006 Ninja 250

Haha just joking man. I was lurking on your HM post hard, it was gorgeous and killing me that I couldn’t justify another bike for the cost.

In terms of my life decisions, well my first bike was an EX500, which I absolutely loved, so this EX250 hits a sort of sweet spot. Then after a bunch more vanilla Japanese bikes, I bought a Tiger 1050. It was awesome, except it was too powerful, too tall, and too top heavy for my use. After I impulse bought a Grom, I realized that I liked riding slow bikes fast, so I flipped the Tiger and bought a DR650 instead. The whole DIY service on a Japanese bike seemed a lot less intimidating than the Triumph too.

    Re: 2006 Ninja 250

    Matt, we're good.

I, too, kind of flip back and forth or meander among the many choices out there.

Sold the last 4 of my vintage Brit Bikes 3 years ago, one I'd owned since 1974. I had my fun.

Had my fun with the Ducatis, too.

Now, two Guzzis and two Kawasakis in the garage. In a way, representing extremes. A V11 LeMans, and a V85TT. A ZRX1200 and a Ninja 250. I guess it all averages out in the end.

Very underrated experience, and coincidentally my experience was riding a ninja 250

I ride slow anyway, so I'll no doubt win the slow race.

I say the same thing whenever a bike magically appears... Although my magic typically involves me lifting fingers and and shrewd negotiating.
