I know it's a bit uncouth as this is unsolicited advice but that price is insane. I know your just doing a favor for a friend positing it, but he will never sell that bike unless he looks around and sees what else is for sale.

I told him there are about 10 road kings on cl for around $9k and that the market is flooded with harleys. He wants a certain amount for it, though.

He thinks the engine being done by local Harley legend Roland from RMW adds to the value. Not sure he's wrong, but you are probably more right.

I've sold at least two motorcycles advertising here only. Also an ATV & a few other odds & ends. Shit, believe it or not I've even hooked up someone with one of our breeder's dogs!

That's a tough spot as a seller. You know it's reliable and built by someone who's a professional. As a buyer I want something as stock as possible.

I bought my 04 road king for 7k, fuel injected with 20k miles and a painted tour pack plus about another 1k of accessories.

Yea he'll have that bike forever at $10k. I'm seeing similar condition/mileage RK's listed for almost half that and having trouble selling.

$5500 tops for that bike. Pretty much the going rate anyway.

I don't disagree with what's being said. The market has definitely been soft for harleys for a couple years now.

That being said, it is the start of the season, so bikes tend to sell a little higher. And I've seen several road kings in the 9-10 range.

Sorry man, I don't think any of us intended to turn this into a price bashing campaign, just trying to be a bit helpful as I think all of us have paid close attention to the used Harley market recently. Hope your buddy is able to get close to what he's looking for out of it
