Re: Air compressor and air tools

I was looking for a roofing gun but they all said that 11 cfm was minimum out put to push roof gun. Did you use the roof gun with that small compressor? I have a 150 psi compressor and want to do some roofing at my place.

cfm has nothing to do with pressure. iv'e run roofing guns on some really small compressors worse case you'll have to wait for the compressor to catch up.

    Edited....
It is the framing gun that needs the recoil spring.

    The roofing gun is perfect!

11CFM sounds waaaaay too high for a nailing gun. Maybe 1.1cfm, which a small compressor can easily handle @ 90-100 psi.

Re: Air compressor and air tools

really so I can run the roofer with my pancake compressor? The guns are cheap and an 11 cfm compressor is huge. and the psi has nothing to do with cfm which is the total volume the compresson can push and psi is the pressure it comes out at. I may have to wait 5min for each roof nail though right

    Absolutely, totally fine.

And no, you won't have to wait between shots...you can fire nails as quick as you can move. A 2.5gal 150psi max pancake compressor will cycle maybe once per 30 framing nails. Seriously. Its really probably something like that. Nailers aren't CFM-heavy. Tools like sanders, grinders and sprayers require relatively high CFM.

[edit] I have the same framing (stick) nailer that Halfsquid is selling...its a great gun. Model is 350A i think. I did use it occasionally with my PC Pancake and was TOTALLY fine. If you're a bump-fire guy, that is still totally fine.

I would like the nailer gun if it shoots 2" roofers. You are about 1.5 hours away from me though.

    2" yes, it does!!!

Want me to ship it for $10? Saves us both time and gas $, unless you just so happen to head north for any reason? I work right off of 495 in Milford & can meet you there, or at Providence Place and I will take the G/F to dinner there.

Re: Air compressor and air tools

Items remaining are the Roofing Nailer and the Air compressor w/hose.

    Anyone? Offers?

Hows $350 for that combo? Compressor/Rofofing nail gun/Air line! I'll even see and throw in any nails I have for it. (May or may not have any?)

A good start to your own roofing business!

Re: Air compressor and air tools

Everything except the Framing gun is spoken for.

After my brake job and the possibilty of buying a tire machine sometime hopefully this year I decided to keep the compressor.

The compressor and Impact gun helped me get the job done myself which saved me a few hundred $ at least! So that tells me to keep that! I already made the deal for the impact, so I will stick with it, and look for another one when I need it.

Thanks everyone. Funds are being put to good use for something bike related!

Re: Air compressor and air tools

That compressor isnt to bad at all for the price. Have had one on the jobs for a good few years now and the only issue was the adjustment valve. Will handle two roofing guns, with ease.

Fjrider, im the guy that met you at Razee's with my KTM in the bed of my truck. It seems you stuck around this place.

Re: Air compressor and air tools

So I over looked a detail.

The Impact gun and Air Ratchet are Campbell hausfeld not ingersoll rand.

Just as good as far as I know, but wanted to clearify my mistake...
