I'm moving to San Francisco for a new job and am considering selling my 9-3 or trading it for something plus cash or straight trade (though prefer some cash or all cash). Main reason for sale is I'd like to get back on a motorcycle. Open to pretty much anything though as long as it can pass smog.

Co-worker of mine is a Saab fanatic/Viggen owner and he is drooling over this thing. I will try to convince him to buy this beast.

SAAB: Sorry About Another Bill
If I didn't just buy a bike I would be on my way to see this thing. Good luck.
Nice saab, I wish there was something like this when I was looking at cars.
Just wondering what you did for electronics out of curiosity... is it still stock ECU? maf still there? etc...
Thanks guys, I love this thing. Considering installing a CARB compliant cat and just taking it to CA with me...
Electronics/tuning are the best part about these saabs. The car has a direct ignition system that has knock detection built in all stock. It's tuned using an open source, free software called T5Suite (the stock engine management system is T5 or Trionic 5). You can adjust fuel, timing, boost with T5Suite and you get access to the knock detection capabilities. I have a plug wired into the ECU wiring so you can literally download T5Suite, plug a computer in with a CAN-USB cable, and re-tune on the fly. I have the cable so it'll cost you nothing.
The innovate wideband sensor is also wired into the ECU - so you can read the wideband signal instead of the stock narrowband signal. There's also a gauge so you see what the ECU sees. Oh and also a recalibration switch so you can quickly recalibrate your O2 sensor to make sure the reading is accurate.
The car doesn't have a MAF sensor, it uses a MAP sensor. Currently running the stock 2 bar map sensor. I have a 3 bar map sensor which is simple to install and the fueling is there to support higher boost. These B204 motors can handle 600hp at the flywheel (iron block) but I'm going to stay within the limit of the 2bar map sensor (~21psi) which should be around 450whp. With the current base tune I'd estimate it's around 380whp and it holds traction very well with the LSD - just PULLS like mad, shoves you a couple inches back into the seat and gives me mild headaches after a couple pulls.
So stock ECU, runs like stock - you can put around town and get 35+mpg or let it rip if you're in a rush. External wastegate sounds incredible too.

Mike D tuned this car, right?
Either way, GLWS!

Good luck with the sale, I really wish I was looking for a car right now lol, I bought my 2002 9-5 for 3000 bucks and would've definitely paid the little bit more for this, at that price it seems like a pretty good snag, daily driver but when you wanna go crazy it's all there. Thanks for the info on the electronics setup too.
that is bad ass WOW

Not in a dick-ish way, but can you stand behind this number? With conservative tuning/driving, what do you actually average? I used to reset the MPG's on my girlfriend's 9-3 SE before coasting down a hill and get over 50 MPGs for laughs.
Anyway, love these things. I miss my girlfriend's old one. Cloth or leather interior? If I wasn't currently dumping all my money into a Corrado project I'd be considering this! Whenever a Viggen or similar pops up in my area I lust over it.

Edit: Just went to saabnet and saw you posted it there, good call!

mileage number is taken based on how many miles I drove and gallons filled up... I generally average around 25-30mpg on a tank and I do about 60% highway 40% city, generally cruising/spirited driving but I do like to open it up WOT to redline when I need a shot of adrenaline.
The car still needs a final tune - but it's already paid for and will be included in the sale. Waiting to do the final tuning so I can get it set-up to the buyer's liking - we can keep it at 20psi, bring it down a bit, or throw a 3bar map sensor and raise it up some more, ranging from ~380-480whp.
Everything is there for you to do more fine tuning in the future.
FUUG i'm gonna miss this car.
Oh and it's LEATHER. I have some interior pics, will post them soon - rear is gutted!

That thing is SICK. Still available? Also, when are you trying to get rid of it by? Some pictures of the interior + exterior with hood down would be great.
Car was sold last week, sorry for not updating sooner.
Thanks all for the interest.
