Any of you folks into Vintage Yammys...?
For Sale: Yamaha DS-6 250cc
I am selling the Yamaha DS-6 that I had planned to use for the moto-giro motogiro however, I found a little Italian job that I want to use instead.
This 250 two-stroke is very complete and rebuildable. The top is stuck but it is soaking in PB Blaster, should pop right off.
Many hard to find parts included...
A new top end with stock bore pistons in excellent shape,
Another set of NOS pistons and rings,
Another set of carbs,
A replacement tail light, bought it for the lens and got the entire light...
New drive chain
And tech manuals.
Couple of sets of copper head gaskets.
A new NOS right side cover
Great little project.
I had started in on it, rebuilding the front hub, brakes, linkage, new tire and tube.
Electrics are intact as are the gages.
A little History of teh DS-6...
The DS-6 motor is the last of that particular format line. It was replaced by the DS-7, which was the start of what became the more familiar RD line soon after.
The DS-6 was the basis for the TD-2 production racer.
$500.00
Thanks,
Rob in Maine
