Riding? Not sure if this is frowned upon on NESR

I know getting rides together isn't frowned upon, but I'm talking about unmarked trails. I have a decent amount of trails in the form of woods and powerlines that I ride behind my house all the time with my friends. Entrance right from behind my house in North Reading, or a couple hundred feet down the street from my other friends house. Both go to the same place, one is an easy trail to the power lines, one is a much more difficult trail to the powerlines.

No roads to drive on, just all trails.

These trails aren't legal, but we haven't had any problems out there in about 7 years, they are ridden by a lot of people.

Wouldn't have to be registered/plated, but if you did happen to get caught out there, I'm sure it would help, but i can very safely say you won't get caught.

Now, I dunno how you guys feel about riding unmarked trails, so if its a NESR no no, I'll just pull a Pete and say that "my friend" is wondering if anyone wants to go riding.

No work or school for me on wednesday, thursday, saturday or sunday, so I'm down to ride whenever.

    Anyone down?

I also have a 300ex I don't mind lending out as long as you agree to the good ol you break it you fix it moto.

    So whats the consensus?

Yeah, i've been riding my quad back there for the past 7 years as well. Back in the day we would have a crew of about 7-10 quads sometimes.

    .
I've ridden my horse through there - you can get access through the electric company's washed out access road too. That leads to the nice track back there that branches off to the other trails... you can also get in from further down by the paintball place on trails that lead out to the town water lake or hit the powerlines if you go right instead.... If I recall there are some pretty deep mud pits in some of the low areas on the powerline. My horse was like fuck no!

By publishing, on an internet forum, where, and when you will be riding in an "illegal" area, and attaching a map specifically identifying the area, you greatly increase your chances of being caught and/or pursued.
This method of arranging rides is generally frowned upon amongst the off road riding community as it can call unwanted attention to previousely "tolerated" area's.

I would definitely, definitely be in...just probably not for awhile (dec, march, or may)

As mentioned, just don't leave that info posted for anyone to see, and you'd be all set.

Riding areas are scarce and few, so finding a new spot would be totally rad

and how kickass is it, that riding is right out of your backyard?

    Its awesome.

When I was young i wanted a quad so badly, and my parents were always like....no, you have no place to put in and no where to ride it.

I cleared a spot in the garage and put my friends quad in there to show them....then these trails showed up. Then I had to do damn good in school for a whole year, and boom, 300ex.

Then i just went out and bought a yz250 7 years later, haha.

You can find some pics of the trails if you're crafty enough

If you want in PM me for details.

by map, its 2 miles from my back yard to the end of the trail in a straight line. But its also about 2 miles wide. My guess is that its about 4 actual miles of riding from one end to the other, but thats only the main trail, never mind the other trails off the side. Its easy to kill 4-5 hours out there.
