We can have two gruops, or I have no problem leading a slower group, I have plenty of time to fast on my own.

That is how I feel when I ride with Peter. But I suck. My wife has to work this weekend but I might be able to get some one to watch the little guy. Peter.. If I can get someone you wanna ride out together??Quote:

Hopefully you'll slow down the pace so we can keep up... AND maybe even remember which way the trails go.
:poke:
I find that if I'm only concentrating on staying alive... not much left for making mental notes of trail direction.
:D

I'd be up for that ride, if its on Saturday. Pete are you doing the Gypsy Moth Enduro, they rescheduled it for the 20th.
Kevin
Hey G, your bike is street plated isn't it? We could ride rite from your house and hit the dirt roads about 6 or 7 miles from your place, leading us to A LOT of legal single track trails:drool:Quote:

Is this actually a timed enduro? I have ridden untimed turkey runs, and was fancying trying my hand at an enduro. Is the one on the 20th a good or a bad place to start, if there is such a thing?

The Gypsy Moth is a great first timeers Enduro, Bring a watch and have fun
This my first season riding enduros and TRs, so I don't know how hard it is, but Pete(GMD) seems to say its not too bad. Most enduros I've done are harder than TRs and I'll usually hour out late in the race. I don't ride them any differently than a TR, go as fast as you can when your in the woods and slow it down on pavement and dirt roads. You need to have AMA and NETRA memberships, and a street plated bike.Quote:

Thanks, Pete and Kevin.
I'll plan on Gypsymothing on the 20th.
I've ridden a few NETRA TRs, including The Back Door To Hell this year. I soured out of TBDTH about a third way through (given how nasty it was, I don't feel the least bit bad about that!) and after half an hour of panting, give or take, finished that day on the dualsport loop.
BTW, what is this site anyway? And why are there so many LRRS folk here? I got the link to this thread from a friend who was instigating me to come to the Beartown ride, and so I registered to ask a few questions. Maybe I should hang around and audit what else is going on...

I did the Back Door to Hell too. We bagged it at the 40 mile gas stop. That was hell.
Kevin
And it had started, fittingly, with a door frame complete with a door propped up between two trees.Quote:

My buddy and I approached the door just about the time another rider put his front wheel against it and gassed it up to swing the door open. Except the latch was still engaged, and down he went. That sort of set up the mood for the ride. :ill: :outtie:

Hell is the Muslinger-Lipflapper Enduro with Bob Stadler trail bossing. The whole C class will hour out, half the B class will hour out, most of the A class will be close to houring out and every one will hate him.....

I'm not sure I'm gonna make it today. I Still have a couple of things I gotta get done on the bike to finish the Dual Sport kit installation.
But where and when are we spose ta meet?
Wayne-o
Great ride today! And if anyone is around... we're doing it again tomorrow.
Sorry you missed us Wayne...
Basically just follow the signs into Beartown until you come to a sign that says ORV parking... it will be on your right... about 10 minutes up the road after entering.
I gotta say, i'm pretty exhausted:redface: I'm not sure if it was from riding 3 1/2 hours or driving 6 hours:dunno:
Good time today and it was cool to see everyone there today:rockon:
Our group after 10 miles:D
Thaks to everyone who set this ride up. And to Mark for helping me up that rock hill.. Peter thanks for all of your help getting the bike ready and such.. I say we ride somewhere next weekend..
G-man
Hey, it was nice to see all of you: Tony, Ken, Ed, Tim and Mark. Thanks for leading a fun ride. I had a blast. :D
