new bike - mini MX!

just picked it up yesterday, holy shit this thing is too fun! finally decided to sell off both my old skool rigid minis to snag a proper pit bike. the plan is to build a tiny track on my side yard in the woods. a quick pic and details below:

What kind of track you gonna make? MX style?
There's a cool little track about 15 minutes from my house, I always thought it was a BMX track until I saw the kids riding it with little dirtbikes...they looked like they were having some fun

track as in a little trail but hopefully with some nice obstacles, just to have fun. i have a little slice of land that leads to a more open corner, we'll see. i started cutting a small trail a few seasons ago for my other minis but never finished.

i'm pretty amazed at how this thing rips. still busted up so i cant really go nuts yet but down the powerlines, ripping around yard, its a freekin blast. riding on a BMX style track would rock. suspension works great but the bike is tiny. 14" front, 12" rear.

super psyched i sold off all that other mini stuff, this thing is waaaay more fun

naw I haven't. I traded a mtnbike for a thumpstar 125. Has 12" motard wheels and also 12/10 dirt wheels. I was thinking of getting a set of 14/12 dirtwheels but I read it can really mess up the handling (not sure how bad it can get on a goofy minibike aha). I was supposed to go ride mine with a buddy yesterday but ended up hanging with my parents all day to celebrate my moms bday.

yeah, i went through the same thing regarding 10", talked to a guy selling a sweet Pitster with 12" setup but it was a 10" bike. after some reading i decided not to go that route, potential handling issues like you say, plus suspension travel.

i had a budget of 1600 and was initially going to build up a brand new Medina TTR linkage bike but this thing was priced right with all the goodies.

Yes, this one was hessos bike and it is 12/10 setup, I just put the dirtwheels back on. Did you find yours local?

My lights on truck are some kind of nightshade stuff yes, but then buffed/clearcoated. I had a real autopaint place do it and it came out sweet.

nice. i was buggin him with all sorts of trade offers for that. looked sweet. found mine kinda local, went down to RI to pick it up. super nice guy, part of the MotoNut team, just didnt ride it anymore. real thorough with his mods, its basically better than new.

same here with the roll pan idea but i had it lowered on 20s at the time. some cool, simple tube bumpers would be sweet but i dont want to spend the cash or add the weight. lil 4-banger wheezes as it is when loaded up. i think i'll just go black (i have a friend that manages a body shop) with dual large fogs or driving lights up front. think that'll look cool with my standard grill painted black.

We gotta ride these little things soon, I wish I had a spot to make a track/jumps but I'm gonna search around and look for areas

i'm so curious how this thing jumps, its sprung really well. dont forget the ice season too! i have some left over kold kutters from last season. prob be much easier to stud than my old minis. lots of tube hassles cause the knobs were so small.

O ya I have a set of like 1000 screws I never put on my kx last year. Was thinking of doing up the yz this year but might just try to do mini wheels if they will fit in the knobs without puncturing the shit.

You have no idea... and it has nothing to do with it being a Honda/Kawi/Suzi/BBI/Vinco/etc, you can pour money into all of them. Want me to get started on JUST money you can spend on that motor of yours? : )
