OK, This two day ride has gotten confusing, but I'm definitely planning to hit Crow Hill on the 18th.
If you guys haven't been to crow hill, it's a great recreational MX track that's 50/50 hard pack/sand. Actually more like 70/30 IMO. It's really fun and pretty easy for beginners. If we arrive in the morning, the track is groomed and lacking any serious whoops. As the day goes on the whoops grow, but never bad.
It's like 20 bucks for the day, and well worth it. I rode there on my SOFT KDX and had no problems with the jumps and obstacles, so don't worry if you're set-up is woods oriented. You'll learn more in a day than in a season in the woods... kinda like a trackday

I'll be at Crow Hill on the 18th for the first time. I hear it's pretty good. My fiance is going to give it a whirl as a beginner. I hope to have a couple of other guys there as well. I'll be looking for ya.
hmm.... my interest is definitely peaked!!

Nice ride Paul. Looks real tall though. Is that a 125?
It's a 125SX. It's not quite as tall as a 450/big bore thumper. Fits me pretty well, though it's narrow at the knees even for me. I'm 5'7" It's light... like mt. bike light!!! I'm running a full race motor right now. The thing is an animal... tons of bottom end power. Power all through the range really. I never have to slip the clutch.
I think I mite want to come out and play!!!
no regrets!!! life is just too short

the home page is confusing, says 'Gates open Saturday morning at 9:00 am'. does that mean hit the track by 10AM? tried to give them a ring but not open today, i'll find out tomorrow.
either way, i've got the same plan, arrive when they open and ride as much as i can.
dont forget your completed forms

Aah, I put one heat cycle on a new top end this morning. So far it feels good. I don't have the deck height tool, so I had to guess a bit about base gaskets, but I did check squish at .9mm so I should be safe.
I'm gonna do a session at my track this afternoon to make sure everything is good to go. I thought I felt the clutch slipping last week, but it all checked out perfect. No discoloration etc. I did notice my lever adjuster hanging up on the grip, so maybe that was it...? I cut a piece of the grip so there's no obstruction. We'll see. I have a whole new clutch pack if necessary... just hope I don't need it yet.
nice, fingers x'd your session this afternoon checks outmy bike is ready to go, just need to grab fuel.
i need to remember to take my damn helmet out of my gear bag after rides! thing stinks like rotting zombies. ugh. dont think it will be dry if i wash it now.
psyched for tomorrow, i'm gonna get wooped!

I hope you guys do something like this again in a few weeks. Never been on a track like Crow Hill, I'd like to check it out (even on my big, heavy, slow katoom). Have a good time! Post pictures!
They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

SWEET! My bike is fooking perfect. conditions are DRY! The clutch isn't slipping. I got great brake pressure with the zip tie trick. 2 finger stoppies.
The KTM has so much grunt off the bottom it blows my mind. Coming off a roadracer with no powervalve, I just can't believe the effect. Just to prove the point, I put the cylinder on without lining up the powervalve linkage (by accident) and the bike felt like an 80cc until 5krpms. I lifted the cylinder, and hooked up the linkage, and BAM! huge grunt from zero. Even 5th gear roll-ons pull me back in the seat from low RPMs. That's unreal for a 125!
See you dudes tomorrow![]()
