Man up. If I can survive, you can too. (Just dont ride a 2stroke. Either because youll hate it and not have fun, or B. youll make me look bad cause I couldnt ride it)

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
The mini-track at MX207 is cool.

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
Pitt, it's really not that hard to ride a 2stroke. You're whining like a bitch...:spank

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
Back in the day, when minis were full sized bikes to me, I could operate a yz60?

No I really think if I had some time on it Id be fine, but trying to learn everything at once just wasnt working.

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
What bike did you ride? They can be frustrating when they aren't jetted correctly. I tried a friend's CR250 and couldn't really ride it for much. The on/off throttle response was anything but smooth. I would lean it over and crack the throttle and it would hesitate then just stand up and wheelie.

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
Pitty Thanks for manning up and going out when I got there ..... I know how nerved up the whole thing can be ..... I'm the guy who just about Hurrrls lunch just before an event .... but once I get out there it all goes away. Love the adrenaline RUSH :shredder:

I was on HDs RM125 (I think thats what it is). I dunno, I just had too much to process at once, I would consider my riding as "unsafe" while I was out there, I kept stopping in corners (not on purpose obviously) and just couldnt keep the bike going predictably.

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
125s can be really hard to ride. Very narrow powerband, and if you drop below the powerband, you pretty much stop. Try a 250 2-smoke. Much broader power curve (not as broad as a four stroke, but a lot better than a 125). Just don't wind the shit out of it, you'll end up wearing it for a hat.

i think he hit it on the head richie, 2 strokes are a ton of fun but you just need to find what works. the wrong set up will make it miserable, the right set up, ...... so good.
and :plusone: on winding the shit out of a 250. things can be scary fast but soooo much fun.

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
Are you going if/when this little event happens? If so I'll bring the Raptor, though it's been a couple years sense my last MX ride on 4wheels:mecry:

if you're a beginner the only thing you need to worry about is keeping your line so the faster riders can make it around you.
its mainly the only track i ride. i absolutely love it.

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
For Wednesday it says
Wednesday Race practice. Structured classes with start gate and practice races in evening. (2) laps. Bikes only.
Does this mean they divide it into groups like beginner, expert, etc.. ?

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
Bump. It's August, anybody still interested in doing this?

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
OK, so August seems to be pretty booked for people with the Southwick National on the 29th. What's September look like for everyone? Or are interested people not going to the National?
EDIT: MX207 has a race September 26. Other than that they seem to be open all month. And obviously Sept. 5-6 is out, as its an LRRS weekend.

Re: Dirtcycles North - MX207
I should be able to make it mid sept. then
