I would not fuck around with a cheapie protective jacket. I like the fox I have now. I bought an EVS that is complete crap. (I can throw it in my kit and you can have it if you like.) But invest in a good set of guards. For knee guards I like the Leatt axis we all seem to have.

Oh, the thigh-high socks that go under them are epic. I have a pair of EVS branded ones that are some kind of synthetic.. they rule. Make riding with knee guards soooooo much more comfortable.

In the hot I skip the jersey and just ride in the fox vest.

not sure how cheap you want to go but i have a brand new pant/jersey set of TLD Shocker in white/pink/black if you're interested. $60?

they are size 34 / M but fit more like 32 and are adjustable. can meet you in Westminster area since i THINK my wife has school Sunday so can't join ride

Did the full loop and then BT after lunch. No one died or got hurt. Well, except for those 2 dudes that ran head on into each other.

Had fun today Ox! Thanks for showing me BT that trail whooped my arse. Two way trails are definitely a roll of the dice. Those two dudes definitely didn't win that bet. Cold beer is definitely in order.

2 way section at the big junction where hang glider ends and stark begins.
Dude came tearing out of hang glider and headed towards the parking lot. He started cutting the corner on that first blind left hander and met a guy coming the other way.
It was ugly

In other news, not sure that i like stark in reverse. Doesnt flow. It also still really needs to be run in. They opened the sand bypass trail too.

BT was a little better in reverse. If i was gonna nit pick i would say that i lose out on a loop i would do that was the last 25% of BT to second half of hang glider now that it runs the other way.

Still had fun, a couple of the hill climbs were gnarly. There was some mud but overall everything was dry

15yo me was in a head on collision in the woods once. Twisted the fuck out of my front end, broke one hand, and one ankle. Buhbye summer.
This is not recommended. Be careful out there kids.

One of the reasons I like HopEv so much is the trails are (mostly) 1-way. It's in my mind every time I round one of those corners on the 2-way connectors. Definitely not the place to show 'em what's up.

Sucks for both riders.


I have only run Stark backwards twice now. The whoops feel way easier. But overall I don't know if I have an opinion yet.
I kind of agree that it's lost some of its flow this way. Had been thinking that was just me not used to it yet though.
