Staying in Gilbert and riding Rockhouse is great too.
got it ... so maybe aim for staying in Ashland and hit all three. dig it.

Correct. They are close. We rode both, but I tended to stick to Indian Ridge because there was no long connector.

    https://atvresort.com/

is a place with campsites as well as cabin rentals etc. near Pocahontas, Indian ridge, Warrior and Pinnacle Creek riding areas https://drive.google.com/file/d/1I5C...qC0KR1Yn8/view

Ashland/Crumpler gets you closer to these trails

    https://www.devilsbackbonewv.com/

Is a similar place near Devil Anse, Buffalo Mountain and Rockhouse riding areas https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uDf...Z6uAF5n9b/view

Staying in Gilbert area puts you closer to Rockhouse. Matewan gets you closer to Buffalo Mountain and Devil Anse.

Depending on skill level of riders I would say Buffalo Mountain, Rockhouse areas would be on the more technical end of things with more difficult single track as well as more of it. Pocahontas, Indian Ridge, Pinnacle Creek are more friendly to a wider range of skill sets.

These areas though they look close enough to ride both during the same trip are relatively far from each other.

I'm sure you have seen this website but https://trailsheaven.com/ is a good resource for most things Hatfield McCoy

If you're into weird shit...there's town called War, WV that has a few restaurants and take out windows. While there, stop into J 2's; it's the closest thing they have to a bar. It's basically self-serve beers, gambling, and smoking. Guaranteed funny conversations if you're willing to talk to strangers.
