Crow Hill was mint today. Not too crowded, and mostly woods guys practicing for that mixed series they are running. A few fast guys were there to burn in some good lines, but the track was holding up nicely. Got to see Squirrel's bad new ride (350SX) and Tricky Mike riding the 444xDid you get those bars straightened Tricky?
I got there early and rode 7 sessions without crashing, which makes it a good day. I did have 2 off track excursions, both of which I caught on video. First one I pulled a chad reed and got a little sideways on a big ramp. I stayed on the seat though, and landed on the soft, steep hip of the landing. It was DICEY but I rode it out. The other one was down to setup. I had too much rebound damping up front and was having trouble gathering it up after a hard, flat landing in a fast section with a left hander approaching, and I just busted through the berm but there was an access road out there, so it was all good.
Sounds like a lot of fun. I love the (few and far between) days where the perfect track and perfect sized crowd combine with a day when you're just feelin the flow.

The way gas prices are, around here houses are going for about a tank and a half.
Just got to sort some stuff out and I should be good to go. Next year, I think. Now if the Squirrel and Mr. Duval would grab Seth and go to Hemonds, I might have to find a bike I could steal to go play.

No worries. Yeah, Hemonds is a haul for you guys. It's worth it if you can find a place to camp out and make it a couple day trip, maybe do MX207 and Hemonds back to back.
