The flywheel weight will make it easier to ride in the woods too. Plus it wouldnt do that bad on the mx track if you ever decided to go.

And you already know how to take it apart.

IMO, that is not a good choice for a woods bike and a rider that is pretty new to offroad

I bought a new clutch for it and haven't even put it in yet.
Well then thank you Seth because if those sports are more expensive than motocross then I'll NEVER do any of those haha

My bikes is ALWAYS falling apart. Repacking the exhaust, new piston every few months, footpegs every few months from being worn down, sprockets....... psh I go thru them like candy. Air filters, airfilter oil, 10w-40 synthetic oil, chain lube, new tires every few weeks !, Bearings every summer.

I ride very hard thought 2-3x a week for months on end. Plus I ride for HOURS upon HOURS on end. My endurance is crazy. I beat the living hell out of my bike + I'm 230lbs.

But I love it, its' worth every penny. I'll be at 207 tomorrow and Thursday

Can't be all that much worse than my built to the hilt KX250

But yeah... that was a handful in the woods. Lookin for something easier to manage.

I actually talked to that guy today. Very tempting, but too much bike for what I'm after.

    Re: Testing the waters again...

    i have a '99 xr250 thats street titled/registered.

its not inspected due to no DOT tires and i haven't hooked up a low/high beam to the headlight yet, but has the switch to do so from the aftermarket tusk on-road kit.

i rattle canned it black but the paint is scraping off from riding it in the woods n such.

if you're interested at all i could send some pics and more info. not actively looking to sell but new baby, house shit and only riding twice this year is making me re-think it.

Seems priced a bit high for a 10 year old bike, but is a waaaAAAAAAAaaaaaay better option than the CRF450 for a woods bike.

    Re: Testing the waters again...

FWIW, my buddy has a CRF 450 w/FC suspension, a flywheel weight, big gas tank, 18" rear wheel, and it's geared down quite a bit. It's a very nice woods bike, the only thing I might add if a Rekluse clutch. When my 300exc is used up I'll probably look at a Honda 450r or 450x.

in the beginning of the season i had it on CL for $2k. got several people come look and offer around 1600/1700 but i was firm. looking at prices now, $2k is unrealistic.

it seems from other stuff 'out there'. this is maybe more now in the $1300 - $1600 range? maybe worth even less, but not sure i could stomach selling it for less than that.

    new last season:
    bark busters
    tusk onroad kit
tires/tubes (will need a rear soon i think)
    shift lever
    lovely spray paint job haha
    steering stem bearings
    chain/sprockets
    rotors/pads (front + back)
    throttle cables/pegs/kickstarter/airfilter
    valve adjustment
cleaned/tuned carb. probably still a little rich on idle circuit

    this season:
    fork seals/oil
    valve adjustment

if you're not interested thats perfectly fine, but i may be trying to sell it soon, maybe from what you've looked at give me an idea what i should ask for it?
