Looks to be a fun layout, but typical for a New England track as far as runoff goes
Yamaha
Track looks cool. Lots of elevation change, good selection of corners. Why though to track builders insist on leaving gigantic rock walls from the mid point all the way to the exit of turns? Nothing like leaving something there that will really injure people and destroy vehicles if they crash there.
What the fuck are these assholes thinking? Do they not get that people go off the track. They need to get on a race track before they decide to build one. This looks like another HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT like Thompson. Fucking cockheads.
i agree. while i can appreciate the challenge in removing that much ledge in order to provide runoff, thats something that shouldve been seriously considered when making the track to begin with. i have to say, that even all the new tracks that i have been to in recent years where people have had concerns of runoff and safety (MMC, Thompson etc), theyve never really bothered me. this one does. thats some big ledge and its really close.

It doesn't even matter.....Tony unofficially said on Friday that bikes won't be allowed there in 2015 anyway. Probably Limerock (CT) will be available though.

The scenery looks amazing. Quite a long track too from the looks of it.
But those rock walls everywhere? Oh man. Not just bikes, but cars. Some rich guy with a nice half million dollar car is gunna make a small oops and it's going to get completely destroyed into one of those.

Actually, I said it is my "guess" that bikes won't be allowed in 2015. I have no info from the owner himself on this. Naturally, we are working on things.
The anti track people are using anything possible to fight the track, and somewhere in the early plans (10 years ago?) it says No Motorcycles.
Anyway, we just got a new track this year with Thompson - and we'll likely have one with Tamworth in 2015. There are plenty of options while the Palmer track gets things sorted out.
I do ultimately believe bikes will be allowed... as soon as the anti track people realize their world is not going to collapse now that the track is built and running.
ever seen racing in Macau? macau12 race2 fin: http://youtu.be/G3Rb3z_y6W8
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
thats different. thats a street turned into a racetrack. thats like comparing the isle of man to VIR

Aside from the massive rock walls, track looks amazing
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
Can we assume they just haven't gotten to the rock walls and they MIGHT be removed before the track opens?
Even for cars that makes no sense.. I doubt they planned all of this without consulting professionals... There must be a plan for runoff
And. FUCK!!!!! they better make it work for bikes
Thought it was a run at Pikes Peak with the blinding sun and cliffs.

Twice. The second time I was more disappointed. Turn 1 sucks, turn 4 sucks, the bridge is retarded, the transition from the nascar oval is bump as shit already, the straight is boring long with a suck off camber turn at the end, pit in/pit out is downright dangerous, gas brake turn, gas brake turn, gas break turn and the back section of the track, the only area with even a little bit of flow and speed in the turns has no fucking runoff for oopses. Wicked fucking dissappointment. When I rode there I felt like I had to hold back or I could get hurt. That made it not fun for me. I ride to push the limits of myself and my bike and I couldn't do that comfortably at Thompson. So what's the point?
Palmers actual track layout looks nice but the stupid amounts of sheer rock ledge are enough to make it not fun. It's another track that I'll have to hold back on.
I thought Thompson was small but it was fun.. only one really scary section that's in need of an air fence. Certainly a great alternative to nhis
I managed to make it to the tire wall when I went down in the back section of Thompson. (T8?) I was surprised how easy it is to run out of runoff.
Pit in doesn't seem dangerous at all.
The pavement sure is nice.
