First post and hope I've got the right place to post this...
I'm interested in doing MotoMarket's Track Day at NHMS on Memorial Day w/e and it would be my first time on a track - I've ridden for decades but am a novice when it comes to the track. I've gotten the general idea of what to expect, and what is expected but I'm not quite there yet as far as being able to go.
My main problem is transport - I don't want to ride up and back - figure I'll be fatigued enough on the track without the commute to and fro. I have a Ford F150 (with a cap which would have to be removed) and it has a hitch, but I don't have a trailer. Ideal would be to load up the truck with bike and gear and drive up to the Red Roof Inn the afternoon before. Wifey has volunteered to be my Pit Girl.
Is there anyone out there near Waltham, MA that might be able to lend me a ramp or trailer? Maybe others looking to share or team up with transport?
I figure I can use some plywood and 2 x 4s (don't laugh) to make up a temporary chock setup if I can get the bike into the back of the truck. As you can tell, I don't want to invest much in my first track day in case I shit my pants and never do it again.
Any advice appreciated!

I just load up the night before and drive up that day. You won't shit your pants, and you will want to go back. If my bikes together by then I'll be there, it's a blue and white aprilia.

I use these, with a little grip-tape on the one I walk up.
You could always go this route:

Less of a commitment financially.

Or, if you dont' want to take the cap off your pickup, Uhaul rents bike trailers for $20/day. Low to the ground, easy to get in out of.

I did my first two track days ever with Moto Market last year, I really like running with that group. While I can't do the Memorial Day event, I do plan on doing the rest of theirs this year.
As for transportation, I was more or less in your same shoes. I found out that my local Uhaul rents motorcycle trailers for $15/day, and I can usually pick it up the night before and drop it off the night of the event and pay for only one day. It's cheap and easy enough...
