Rider Appreciation Day This Weekend With AMA Champion Corey Alexander
We are blessed to have such an amazing track family who love NYST and have stood by us even when times were tough.
We built this track for you and want to show just how much we care about your support!
That's why August 16th and 17th will be our Appreciation Weekend.
For everyone who showed up to support us at the court hearing you will have a FREE day this Sunday
For everyone who wrote in to our congressmen it will be only $99 this Sunday, and if you want to ride the entire weekend it will be $250.
i understand why they are doing it.. the support is good.
but isnt this gonna cause a giant clusterfuk this weekend ???
part of the reason i bought the membership was they promise a lot of track time and space.
You'll have plenty of track time. If you have a problem with the number of people in your group come see myself or greg. We will get you sorted.
BTW I just realized that this is NOT a TPM weekend. I will be there anyway, but that in its self lowers the amount of people that will be there.
Jim- You're to chicken to come ride with me on my home track.
im not close at all to NYST, otherwise I would have been there during the court date.
I am certainly NOT an NYST fanboi, but I do find it amusing that people here bitch about the number of people that can possibly show up there on a track day (previous thread about groupon days being crowded, seriously?!). People seem to be forgetting that ANY big trackday is going to be full of people. You ever been to a big-name track day in NHMS or Thompson? Yeah, there's 4 groups worth of people in every one of them. If anything NYST has more space to spread out because there are no garages or paddocks, and the track itself is longer (2.14 miles versus 1.6 at Loudon or 1.7 at Thompson). Oh, the "membership" we paid for is 50 bucks.
I say deal with it. And stop whining because it's the same everywhere.
honestly, it's a time thing this season. the few weekends i have off from riding, prob doing maintenance for the the upcoming weekend. I'm getting burnt out already. i've done 51 races already, and i'm starting a 4-week schedule this weekend for another 20 races. when my schedule calms down next year, i'll do a few days with you at NY.
I was there last weekend and there were never more than 25 people in any of the 4 groups. (intro, novice, intermediate, advanced). The only downside was that there was a LOT of down time due to lot of tipovers (in all groups) on Saturday, but I think the fantastic weather was making people feel especially heroic....Word was they rolled the ambulance more on Saturday than they had this whole year in total. The comment about the bigger track helping keep things spread out seems accurate. If it wasn't a 4.6 hr drive, I'd be there all the time. Great track.
