Re: Thunderbolt Write-Up (LONG)
I rode Lightning yesterday with NYC Ducati.
We heard 2 stories about you guys on Thunderbolt yesterday:
[1] A few people were escorted off the property by security - Mercedes heard the call for security over the radios.
[2] There was a bad accident involving 2 bikes collecting eachother. Supposedly someone had some severe chest injuries?
Can anyone there shed some light on these? Any names of those that were booted off the premesis? One of the guys I went with runs some track days and wants to be sure they don't show up at his.

That guy is trouble. The Mass State Police have tabs on him.
He is unarmed and considered dangerous to himself.

Two bikes got tangled in T2 that i saw - ambulances were rolling all day so I have no idea about injuries
No idea who got kicked out but it was an "interesting" mix of trackday goers so I wouldnt be surprised by anything
Denno

Assume 2-2.5 hours from right outside NYC on the NJ boarder.
So...just add onto that how long you need to get to NYC from wherever you coming from.
We took 6 driving hours total on the way there and about 5.5 on the way back, to dennos in foxboro.
I think that from Boston proper it is just under 6 hours.
I know folks were putting up routes to avoid the GW bridge, but we took it in both directions and crossed in about 2 minutes. Just listen to the traffic as you get close and make a call.

Too late, I'm already signed up for Tony's NJ event... So with an EX250 or possibly an RS125, I'll should be able to get around with wide open throttle and no braking right? Well, it's a wide track so I'll duck tape a "Slow moving vehicle" sign to my back and you'll all have plenty of room to get around me... I'm sure I'll have fun on my small bike anyways!

Re: Thunderbolt Write-Up (LONG)
who rode a 600, what gearing did you use and was it enough.
Thanks
-
Re: Thunderbolt Write-Up (LONG)
i had retarded gearing for the track - from loudon gearing you need to go at least 1 up in the front and maybe 1 dn in the back
but i had fun anyways
-
Re: Thunderbolt Write-Up (LONG)
Yo Denno what gearing do you have on the 636? 15/43?
-
Re: Thunderbolt Write-Up (LONG)
Can someone explain gearing.
-
Re: Thunderbolt Write-Up (LONG)
Its those little round pointy things that the chain goes on.
-
Re: Thunderbolt Write-Up (LONG)
think ten speed bike and the change of the gears has on speed verses revolutions

Re: Thunderbolt Write-Up (LONG)
Seriously Manny I am considering going up 2 in the back from my Loudon gearing for NJ. Do you think this will be enough?
-
Re: Thunderbolt Write-Up (LONG)
Steve, From the sound of it you'd want to go 2 down in back, no?
