Hey everyone,
I'm a beginner track rider and I just purchased a 2004 R6 that is set up for racing. The only thing it didn't come with is frame sliders. I am looking for some recommendations on track day / race frame sliders for the bike preferably from people that have experience with various brands and how well they protect the bike during a crash at the track. Any advice on any other bike protection such as swing arm and bar end sliders is appreciated as well.
Thanks
Come on... there's got to be information on this forum that discusses this already. This is an easy one. Most EVERYONE runs WOODCRAFT frame sliders simply because their 100% functional as in... they do what their supposed to. Miles sells them from Street and Comp if he's at your event.
Not to mention they support our local club/sport/racing. Don't get me wrong, if they were not functional I wouldn't use their stuff, but it's awesome, local, and supports the local scene. In my opinion there isn't another option!
I ride an EX so frame sliders are not an issue, but my woodcraft clip-ons and rearsets kick ass.![]()
Woodcraft from Duncan Moto if you wanna save a few $$.

Ok, sounds like woodcraft it is. I wasn't sure because they look a little short and as a beginner I am not too worried about lean angle clearance. I do understand that if they are too long they can damage the frame easier if they catch something while sliding. I just want to protect as much of the bike when the inevitable happens. Thanks again.
WC are not short to cover lean angle. They are shorter to protect the engine/frame - a longer one can bend the moto/frame, which is very expensive.
As I understand it, WC sliders are not to protect you in a parking lot tip-over, they are to protect you in an at-speed crash, and they do that well. A big slider will wreck your frame/engine, a WC slider will protect that stuff.
Anyone in the know feel free to correct me, but this is my interpretation...
