$8,900 with adjustable suspension. Anyone own a '11 or '12?
Looks very tempting....
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
I've heard nothing but good things about the previous years. My FZ1 (which much of the FZ8 is based on) has been anvil-reliable.
467lb curb weight...a bit porky if you ask me.
I do love that so many manufacturers are finally taking the naked bikes seriously now, however.

That's 60lbs lighter than a Rex!
At least for that kinda money (and weight), you get adjustable suspension.
Besides, that is more of a Z1000 competitor.

I dunno, I look at the fact that only 4 years ago the 2008 Z1000 had 125HP and weighed 440lbs. And it had 2/3 adjustable suspension. And it was cheaper.

All good points.
No radial mount brakes, no new tech at all really. slipper clutch?

Heck even the base Street Triple is only $500 more, has the same power and only weighs 400lbs wet.

That weight is dry weight - the Z1000 wet weight or curb weight is at least 20lbs more than the FZ8. I really like the look of the FZ8, but I think the CB1000R is even better looking and is an overall better package (as it should be for the higher price). At this price point, I would buy a street triple hands down
Regardless, its still lighter and a 20HP difference is still a very big difference in power to weight.
I agree with you on the last two points though.
