The 2022 Grom has a 5 speed. I wish my Z125 had another gear.

As for a Navi, I personally don't see the appeal for myself when things like the Grom/Z125 exist. They're just way too much fun and worth the added cost IMO, at least at current pricing after fees. I'd also rather have an actual scooter with storage under the seat and a flat floor board to make it more practical. Then again, I picked up my Z125 for $1700 with 40 miles on the odo and I've never ridden a Navi so maybe my expectations are out of whack.

Now, I do think the Navi is great for someone like my GF who is legally licensed but doesn't like riding the Z125 I got her due to the clutch and thinks scooters are too dorky and in some cases too large for her short stature.

Thanks, wasn't aware. I don't think I'd care for another gear. A few more HP maybe though.

    Owner since 2014.

    • more powerful motor (8hp --> 9.7hp)
    • 5 speed transmission
    • gear shift indicator
    • much more programmable ECU
    • upgraded headlight visibility

There’s been some reports of issues on the forums/FBgroups with the ‘22 Grom/Monkey drivetrains. I haven’t paid much attention since mine is an older model, but it seems to be a whining noise after riding for 30+ minutes.

I really don’t think the hp boost on the ‘22 was quite that much as 8 to 9.7, I think there’s some confusion with crank vs wheel hp there.

    Also, I know a guy selling a Z125…

You have both? Is this the reason you're selling the Z125...?

Long story, but yes, I currently have a ‘14 Grom and a ‘17 Z125 in my garage.
In the process of unloading them both, as I just couldn’t pass up a deal on a nicely setup ‘21 Monkey.

You're correct. It's pretty much always been ~10hp.

Here is a review of 2014 claiming 10hp. This is the second time I've seen that information on this forum. Peculiar.

Anyone see any at dealers lately or an all stock one for sale?

I see them at just about every time I go into dealerships. I didn't think there was a supply problem. Plenty of Facebook too. Dealers fees nearly double the MSRP price so while the Facebook ones seem pricey they actually aren't compared to buying from Honda.

if they're saying 10hp on the OG and SF, then it's at the crank. the 2014-2020 Groms are 8hp at the wheel.
i believe it's 9.7hp at the wheel for the SP 2021+

I'm selling one of Navis and keeping the other. My wife loves hers, but I'd rather have a scooter for what I use it for.
