You're correct, unless you go JHS, it's a custom job. I don't know if you race, but if you're at the classic in June (which you should definitely go to nonetheless), swing by garage Center 1 and check mine out. The guy that made my subframe will conveniently be next door.
You will also need an upper stay. This is what i used.
Fairing Bracket - Suzuki SV650. 99-02 & 03-08. possible fit 09-12
Issac,
Didn't see your bike in garage 1, only a blue sv with gsxr tail. Anyways is it possible to post some pictures with the Daytona race tail? Would appreciate it.

Re: 2nd Gen SV650 Subframes
Right now I'm working on developing a Gen 2 subframe to fit the 08 and up R6 tail. Although I like the Triumph tail better.
I should have something worked up in a few weeks. Depending on how busy things are.
Re: 2nd Gen SV650 Subframes

That Daytona tail looks amazing! If you guys start making frames let me know. I can't weld, but I could mock something up after some study.

Re: 2nd Gen SV650 Subframes
Reviving this thread because I just put a gsxr tail on my gen1. It's ugly and looks like a beaver tail, but it fits and works well enough. My question is a general ergonomics one: the tail fits fine but the angle is basically flat, like a dirtbike seat. I noticed on my cbr the seat angle is pretty radical in comparison. What's the point of this? Should I adjust my subframe for a higher seat position and seating angle? Here's a pic for all to see.
