Let me know if you are interested in selling the lower.

Other way around...
stock = 1/4 turn to WFO
modded = 1/5 turn to WFO
You don't have to turn the throttle as far to get WOT. You won't have to re-grip to get to full throttle...

Re: Another 90's ride in the stable
Chuck, are you planning on racing that thing this year? Or just using it for track days?

I believe it's the other way around 1/5 turn is a smaller increment that 1/4.

Track days this year. Racing is definitely not in the budget.

I guess it'll never be as cool as when Dan owned it.
Bummer.

What I want to know is when did you buy my old F3? or are you just starting a collection of '97 vehicles? ;)

You never know. Annalisa picked it up from a guy in the Tiverton, RI area last July.

Re: Another 90's ride in the stable
Got the fairing stay in and mounted the tach. Found out that the clutch cable is just a little long. It hits the tach mounting bracket when I cut the bars all the way to the right.
Does anyone know of a shorter (say 3-4" shorter) cable that would fit the SV?

Note how long the clutch cable is in this picture:

I have no idea.
But another key made as that one is ready to break.

Re: Another 90's ride in the stable
One step closer . . .
Finally got the windscreen in (yes, I am now in agreement that Puig screens are much better than Zero Gravity screens), so I mounted all of the bodywork.
I'm pleased at the way it came out for a first-timer.

I am very impressed Chuck. Only a few years ago you were afraid to change your own oil. Good work :hellyeah:

I'm spoiled by the ease in which the front wheel on the CBR comes off and goes right back on though. The SV's front brakes are a pain in the ass to get back over the rotors.

I can appreciate the racial harmony you have going there. It truly is a united bike.

Re: Another 90's ride in the stable
I finally took her out for a very short ride around my complex yesterday. This is going to be an extremely fun bike to ride. I wish I had a place to open her up.
I don't think my neighbors were too impressed though. It is a little loud in our cul-de-sac.

Re: Another 90's ride in the stable
Well, after 5 months and limited time to work on it, I can finally say that the SV is ready for the track. I didn't feel like taking the tank off, so I simply didn't paint it.
I now REALLY can't wait for 7/20-22. :woot:

Actually, I painted it over the last 2 weekends that I was home. I just changed the oil and put it back together today.
