well i have my interceptor almost sold just waiting for the buyers loan.
i really want another cheaper bike. i've been looking on-line and argo in hooksett keeps coming up. they have mostly salvage bikes. so my question is this. how hard is it to get a salvage title bike back on the road? is it worth it? there's a nice zx-9 with some cosmo damage thats caught my eye.
If you are going to argo's let me know. i have a friend that is sponsored by them and works there that can save you a lot of money.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
cool, i'll let you know. i'm hoping maybe this weekend, if not soon.Originally posted by hessogood

A coworker of mine bought a salvage bike from them. He didn't have any trouble getting a plate for it in MA.Originally posted by blackvfr

I don't know if you can get better prices going up there but the prices they have on their website are rediculously high.

ya i thought so to but was hoping i could talk them down if i found something not to trashed. hopefully those prices are for the uninformed thats why i was looking for anybody who has bought from them in the past.
I hope you're getting a hell of a steal for it to be worth it to sell a nice new bike to go get another one that isn't in very good shape.
How much are you getting for your VFR?

little under 8g's. i over financed that bike. (long story including my ex) so the monthly was just stupid on it and i didn't want to refinance. i love the bike and the v4 but its time to move on.
i just want a bike i can hammer on. sport or duel sport whatever i find a deal on.
do not worry about the price, jsut get the stock # and the price will magically change....

Just sounds high to me, I don't quite get the VFR blue book values.
How many miles did you put on it?
11000 plus. less than 2 years. something i probley won't be able to do again for a long time.Originally posted by benVFR

My friend has gotten at least one bike from Argo, an F4i a few years back. He told me you show up with a wad of cash ready to do business and the price becomes more inline with what you'd expect to pay for a salvage bike.
I am pissed I missed this one today, I swear the guy somehow put a reserve on the bike in the last hour of the auction (is that possible?) I setup a sniper bid, thinking I was going to end up with a $1200 SV (that has one heinous gas tank) only to find out I didn't meet this reserve that never existed before....

my bike came from Argos..
Didn't have a problem getting a plate.
But if it has a salvage title you have to fix the problems it may still have and then the state DOT guy will decide if it gets a rebuilt title...Which is what I have.![]()
And I don't know about others but I got a really good deal...But then again I know someone who works there too.![]()

Bought from them as well and the price dropped about 40% when asking for it.
No problem gettin a plate, just keep receipts for what you have replaced, even if just paypal receipts if buying off of ebay. I didnt have all of mine, but they did ask to see something.
well def something i may look into now that the vfrs gone.
can you find out + post up exactly what was needed to get a plate ?Originally posted by ChR1s

I thought if you buy a vehicle with a salvage title it's marked a 'salvage' vehicle regardless of the shape it's in. Are you saying you can get a salvage bike, clean it up if damage is not too bad, and get a clean title, i.e. doesn't say salvage, rebuit, etc?

No the title went from a salvage to a rebuilt...And it has a sticker that the state places on it as well that states rebuilt..Originally posted by ancosta

I have a slightly scratched fairing and tail section for an 01 in pearl green. Insurance paid for new stuff so I kept the old stuff.
