    Bar end mirrors.

I have a 2004 Kawi Z-1000. The mirrors are great for checking your elbows.
Does any one have any advise, or experience with a better mirror. The bar ends seem like a good idea, anyone use them?
    Thanks,

    Re: Bar end mirrors.

I've got a set of Motrax bar end mirrors... they're basically the same thing as the low-end CRG's but at a fraction of the cost.

You can probably get em through Mr. Kurtz (who I got mine from) or Gixxerjockey.

    Re: Bar end mirrors.

I use the Napoleon bar ends. They're rectangular (sorta, wider on outside) and have several notches where you can flip them around. I will them in when I'm lane splitt- uhh, I mean lane "sharing", and pop 'em back out when I'm moving again.

I found the quality of the mirror and the coverage to be superior to the stock mirrors on the SV. I think you get more information from the rectangular-ish shape also.

I paid $66 for the pair at Riverside in Somerville.

The only downside I can think of is you can't use bar end weights. Salmandir (sp?) makes a bar end you can use w/the Motrax style.

here's the first things I pulled out of google w/pix and info

I had Napoleons on my SV, they are great for visibility and can be easily adjusted for zero blind spots with just eye movement, they also hold up well in a crash and act as frame sliders

I had a CRG bar end on my R6 when it was on the street. I was very happy with it. Much better than the stock mirrors, i didn't have to move my arm out of the way to see

    Re: Bar end mirrors.

    Thanks alot.
This may sadly be my only mod. I am broke after my dirt bike blow out. I have little to no money left.
I figure this could save my ass though. Not to mention the bike is way to fast for my tired old ass as is.
Any one else have or had a Z-1000.

    What would you change?

I wish I could have a power command and differnt pipes to jetteson the 4 boat anchers it comes with. Some days I think the pipes look cool, most they are a little over the top.
Thanks for the links and advise.

    And very expensive!

I've been using the Third Eye bicycle bar end mirrors. They are plastic, and cost around $12 for two of em. They actually work very well, and I've been using them for almost three years. If/when they break I'll probably replace them with the $50 CRG clones that are one EBay.

$43US per side for the Oberons isnt too bad but i hear you, not $12. I ran a Cat Eye mtb mirror for a while too but at speed it moved all the time.

Seriosuly? I thought the Oberon's were like $120+ for both. That's not THAT bad. They are very nice pieces...

I loved my CRG's on my Super duke. Very adjustable, You can still use your bar end weights and are very easy to flip in and out while on the go for tight spots and storing/trailering without having to remove them. I dont remember what I paid for them but I think they were well worth it.

I think I will be using them on my RC too..

yeah, thats what i paid direct from Oberon in the UK but i have the 'streetfighter' size. still dig 'em though. they have a few other styles/sizes so the price varies but theyre not that bad in price really. especially for the quality and service.

    Re: Bar end mirrors.

I believe the napoleans may be the beat mirror for rear visibility, some hate them because they have been around since the 70's unchanged.

The CRG mirrors are great, I have a couple of sets on a couple of bikes. They are not cheap, thats the only downside I can think of.

Now I had a customer crash his bike this summer and when i went to replace his mirror thats when I discovered it was a CRG knock-off. They are not as well built as a CRG but damn close enough. You can pick them up off of ebay for around $50.00 .... for a pair....... shipped as well.

bar end mirrors are the first thing to get hit in a tip over, as good as the CRG mirrors are for 1/4 the price I can drop my bike twice as much.

    Re: Bar end mirrors.

I use a set of CRGs on my SV. They are kinda pricey, but after searching around for a while, I knew I wanted these. I picked them (CRG Hindsight LS) up from www.bevelheaven.com as a set that came with everything I needed. Forgot how much it cost. I think they look nice and work better than the stock mirrors:

I have a CRG ebay knock-off that I was gonna use for my YZF when it was gonna get fightered. It seems like a pretty solid piece.
