i'd say it's a little too much for a first bike. I wouldn't suggest it to a new rider, espeically one of your age (no offense, i just remember how I was at that age)Quote:

That one seems very appealing because it is close, only in RI. Hell of a lot better then Taxas or CA where the rest are.
imho, a 600RR is *not* a bike the bike to start with. see my previous post about modern 600's.

If you're set on a CBR look for a mid-late 90's CBR F2, F3 or F4 at the latest.

If you can stand the bike upright by yourself then you deserve to ride it
If you can't even pick up the bike when on its side then opt for the pedal bike idea.
Actually, truth be told, there is one bike that would be perfect for you.
The early 2000's CBR 929RR. They are right in your price range, and are very gentle bikes to ride.If you unplug two of the plug wires. Also, that is the bike of choice for all of the way cool bling bling stuntas, so when you wreck it, you can just glue some odd variety of fur to it, and still be "cool". :hellyeah: The only problem is that they are very difficult to wheelie, so you will *definitely* need to gear it down, a lot. Like three teeth down in the front, and an extra seven or so on the back.

I still have a lot of time to think on it. In a few days I will be in Hawaii for a couple of weeks. I will have plenty of time to think it over.
no offense but if your going to be in hawaii for the next couple of weeks your almost better waiting until next season to get a bike, your gonna leave yourself about a month of riding time then it'll be time to store it for the winter.
WTF? There is more like 3 months left in the season. I've been waiting around for this hot weather to go awawy so I can *start* riding. :P

Should be a good month then. I am going to ride it at least though november, see how it is from there.

point taking i just think i'd go crazy if i had started riding a bike for 2 maybe 3 months then have to put it away for 5 months.... the bike sitting there would be taunting me. then again I do plan on riding the bike non stop over the next 3 months.
It always feels that way. Right now it is 90 degrees and I have the biggest urge to go skiing.
In a few months, it is going to be paintball, swimming, and riding.
The thing to do is to get a house in each hemisphere.
I ride my brothers' 600rr all the time. Uncomfortable to say the least. I rode my friends "brand new" 2002 f4i and it was much more comfortable, but still, it's a race rep. Neither of them really blast off with acceleration, either. (not that it's needed)I get back on my superhawk and thank god for torque. I'm curious, what do you define as a "street bike"? FYI: a SV with a good rider will smoke a 600rr, 1000rr, R1, etc anyday (even on track). If you want something that "looks cool" go to an art store. If you want to make a resonsible decsicion about a 1st motorcycle, then your question has been answered over 15 times already in this very thread.Quote:
