After a terrific sale of the VFY to forum member yucatan, I said good bye to the VFR Thursday and pick up an F6B today.
The VFR (my fourth) took me across country last summer and ran like a champ with a full givi setup.
But I'm looking for more long days covering time and distance on quiet two lanes in a more relaxed manner. I rode the F6B at a demo day and loved it. I have owned a Valkyrie, Triumph rocket iii touring and two ST1300's, so I have long term experience with bigger bikes.
The F6B's chassis is the most sporting capable of the behemoths and my knees and wrists are looking forward to 500 mile days in a more relaxed position.
Pics as soon as she's in the paddock
My wife and I sat on a Black one at VMS in Northampton. We were seriously considering the left over blue 'Wing, and the FJ they had, but in the end, we ended up getting a V-Strom 650 Adventure. The F6B felt "low" and the seats felt hard, but I guess that they all do when they are new.
We really like the DL-650 so far, but sometimes I wonder if we made the right choice... There are so many great bikes out there these days!
Looks like the skies parted for you Steve. Lets see those pics once you are back to the garage. Congrats!
Current: Looking.

Not only did the rain stop, my son's lacrosse game were cancelled because the fields were to wet and he's made plans to go to the movies and hang out with his buds. I actually have the afternoon to ride!
Those things are funky. I see one in the work parking lot occasionally.

HD wishes they could build this.
It might not be your taste, but the frame, suspension and engine alone put it in another universe from HD. The Road King was on my list, rode it. No comparison.
Where'd I say it wasn't my taste? And why are you getting defensive? It was a frikkin joke.
You just got a new bike, you should be in a much better mood. Go ride the thing already.

Looks great Steve! It looks pretty mean coming or going. In typical fashion Honda I am sure it is smooth as can be.

I am completely ignorant of these things. Does that have a reverse gear? And how does one lift it on to the center stand?
No reverse.
Center stand not a problem. Foot on lever, hand on left grip and left passenger grab rail, step hard and pull.
Heavy, but no more than 10% more effort than getting the VFR on its centerstand. Leverage is a wonderful thing.
F6B lacks reverse, but the GL has it. The F6B also lacks a center stand (i've heard, but it looks like i'm wrong).
Getting it on the stand isn't really that hard. Press down on the stand with your foot as you lift the passenger handle.

Jasnmar,
The deluxe F6B adds center stand, heated grips, self-cancelling turn signals and passenger backrest.
I added fog lights and have the taller screen on the way.
Steve, your new bike looks *Great*, and makes me wonder if I should have bought one myself (or the "Wing). Oh well, maybe next year....
Ahh. That makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.
Self cancelling turn signals are one of those kinda head scratcher features. When you hear about them it's like really? It is a motorcycle ... but you quickly become extremely spoiled by them.
Is the taller screen you're getting an OEM GL screen or something aftermarket? I actually liked a bit more wind than the OEM provided and went with a baggershield.
Congrats; threw a leg over one at GBM and it felt amazingly light side to side. Didn't try to push it up any grades though.![]()

I had the 'wing and loved it. I bought a spare windscreen and cut it down to look like yours stock.
I think Honda did a great job on this bike.
