My friend who used to work at Cycles called me up to come check out a mini road race course they setup out back. Apparently they used to do this a few years back, and this was the 1st one they had since then. It was really fun/funny to watch, some of these guys were really good. At least one LRRS expert class racer was there. Between the sound of the thumper (mini) motards, 2 strokes and the smell of race fuel, it was almost like being at Loudon for track day! One of the hot bikes was a 50 chassis (YSR or NS) with an XR100 motor in it. But it seemed the trail bikes with taller bars were more flickable through the course.
Anyhow here's some pics:

Those pictures are hilarious. Forget knee pucks, these guys have full shin sliders.![]()
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
HOLY SHIT DUDE, you were there too??? I was there w/ Alex on the two "red bull" crf50's! He was #434, I was #14 (after Brian, the original rider got taken into the wall head on w/ another rider) I even pulled off a 3rd place finish in the stock class, my first two wheel race hardware
Dude, it was a BLAST! SO glad i brought my leathers![]()
Wish I knew you were there, woulda introduced myself

I think I know which guy you were, the only guy in all black A* leathers? Looking good out there! Who was the guy in the blue leathers, Darren (parts guy buddy) said he was LRRS expert. I didn't see the wall incident but I heard his shoulder got banged up bad. I couldn't picture going out there in jeans and sneakers but ppl did and they were ripping it up! Sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi likewise...next time!Originally posted by OreoGaborio

Oh this one is a cool pic too, the guy in blue had just unloaded, as the other guy went around him, coming out of the corner on 1 wheel

I was the dude in the blue/black leathers on the Red Bull CRF50. I'm a LRRS Amateur. I rode in the 25+ Open Final and the Stock Final (with Oreo). The guy that hit the wall and banged up his shoulder is my coworker BryanHe then let Pete ride in his spot for the rest of the day. Bryan hit the wall in the first 25+ race.

Okay here's my contribution. Definately a superfun time. Dave Olcott from Transworld Motocross set this up and everyone had a blast. Fun course, good weather, great racing, can't beat that.
I entered the Age 25+ Open class and boy that was tough. Think I finished 5th or so out of 26-30 bikes and was the top finishing Stock bike. Lots of trick machines out there Saturday!
Next up was the Up to 49cc Class which had stock engines.. but guys could mod the chassis and stuff. S'kay, Pete and I were on BONE STOCK CRF50's (other than higher bars and motard tires) and we did alright. Took home 1st and 3rd in this one.
Heh. Had lots of guys coming over and asking if my bike was stock. Be like ' yup'. and get the typical 'How the F#$# you going so fast on it!!'... 'Well sir.. I race a friggin slow bike at Loudon so I'm used to it I guess'. Good laughs all around. Most of the guys racing were dirt based so our Knee Down styles were foreign. I'm glad I had my leathers, did a few tumbles.
On with the pics.
