No, I am not calling myself names. Reiobard and I are looking to do some long trips this summer (to visit friends and family in far-away places) and we are looking for good sport-bike-friendly saddlebags to help us out with our travels. Do any of you have experience with good ones, anything to stay away from or check into. Reminder, I have an SV and he has an FZ, if that matters with some models. Currently, I am interested in these:
Nelson Rigg SSC-150 Siver Streak Deluxe Sport Saddlebags :: New Enough Motorcycle Hard Parts
And, hoping to keep costs down as much as possible.
Thanks!

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
I'm a huge fan of the Cortech stuff made by Tour Master.
I have the large side bags, the stackable tank bag and the duffel tail bag
They've all been more than accomodating as far as storage goes and the rain covers actually stay on and do their job!
Yeah I'm in the same boat, wanna do some trips & I've been kinda lookin at those silverlines, too... If ya get em lemme know how they are.

I also saw that a lot of models come with "corresponding" tail bags. Would that be something we should check into as well? We are thinking 3-4 days in Upstate NY, and maybe a trip to Ohio as well (14 hour ride in the car).
If only they had some that could fit all our camping shit.....

They have served me well in the few years
I have owned them. I think I paid about $100
for them at RJ's in Nashua.
As seen on my bike below:

Those seem to be a pretty good size. I'll keep them at the top of the list, especially if I can get them (relatively) local. Unfortunately the shops up here are lacking in selection...

I would def go online for them -
I think I paid too much, but I was in a pinch
and needed them.
DSR Power Sports has the Nelson Riggs and the Cortech, along with some other options I beleive...also check out KneeDraggers.com - Sportbike Parts, Accessories, and Apparel, both great online places to buy from...I think I'm gonna throw down for the cortech ones right now!!!
