I dont really like those half fairings on the sides....they dont quite give a very aerodynamic look.

those are the intake/radiators. And for only 60 bux or whatever they are they're cheaper then a frame slider, just ask nick.

Why does Buell always have to do something really different? Besides the obvious, take a look at how they mounted the front brake setup.

Because without people trying different things there would be no progress. Criticized as Buell may be, other companies have always kept a close eye on Buell and have attempted to buy some of his designs in the past. Honda has taken a very close interest in Buell over the course of the company's 25 years.

Jeez I guess mounting the exhaust under the bike was a "different" idea that flopped....

those brakes ROCK! thats why there is only 1. (at least there used be just 1) that brake set up is so good that you only need one. those have been around since the first XBs. 1 finger braking.

yeah, the perimeter braking system is nuts! Test ride a buell if you can. They are fun bikes.

Buell offers magnesium wheels through it's racing department. Page 47 in the current parts catalog. 5.75" wide for fitting 180 or 190 rear tires. I also remember seeing 16.5" mag wheels offered.

    Re: Buel 1125-CR

I think it looks sick, especially in red. Is that a factory color or just a ray-trace mock up? Got to ride one at Barber last year at a Buell demo, but they had control riders keeping everyone really slowed down. I like any bike that has design innovation. Right now I think KTM's bike are really puling the stops out on the visual design side (perhaps pulling the pin on the mtor though...). But, the Buell, finally with a Rotax and not Hardley Ableson motor is thumbs up in my book...

Racing Red is a factory color. The brake caliper being red too looks really cool.

I'm sure Hot Bodies / Shark Skinz is working on something much more appealing and functional, hopefully for both street and track. Its essentially still a naked sport bike but now that its water cooled it can be wrapped up. I hope someone shows up racing one soon at the track.
and getting away from the sportster motor was genius.

Test rode one down at Pocono and walked away smiling. Snorkel...shmorkel It has all the right stuff for a base line race bike ..... good power and good brakes with a compliant suspension but just like any bike a mod here and there and you'll be competitive with a smile
