there were a few brandy new 1125's at hh5 this weekend. and a few more guys picking up new one's they had just scored. all in the 5-6k range.
and you're totally right typeone, that dude needs a dirtbike of some sort...
I worked at Remington Arms for 3 years
Everytime someone brought up a new product the powers that be remebered that a shotgun at the time cost $11 and wholesaled for $89.
So if the new product didn't measure up they were like why?
I think Harley sees an unlimited future in selling their farm equipment to an ever stupider populace.
I had even put the 1125 on a look see list.

what the fuck?
ATK, Hyosung to collaborate on bike range for Harley dealers
EICMA: ATK Partners With Hyosung, Plans to Enter Street Market
ATK Motorcycles has partnered with S&T Motors, the South Korean maker of Hyosung vehicles. The partnership eventually will produce a small-displacement ATK streetbike to be sold through Harley-Davidson dealers, ATK announced earlier this week at EICMA. Dealer News link

When are the trumpets rollin in?
Oh word! You guys gonna have demos? Wink wink.
soo.... what's ATK?
also, the hyosungs in the US must be different from the domestic market ones, since i see them by the boatload here and their fit/finish quality is pretty much on par with my SV...
hurray, strikethrough!
...adventure timeadventure time...adventure time...adventure time
Although, ATK did offer this:

I was just on ATK's website, and the specs are pretty impressive for their supermoto bike, but with that being said, how come I have never seen anyone on one? Ohlins forks and shocks, fuel injection, ect. but nobody has one. Suspicious if you ask me.
i have respect for ATK, they've built some cool bikes over the years, used to lust over their bikes as a kid back in the day.
the connection with Highland has been interesting to follow:

Word on the street is that the ATK Ohlins components are/were not "the good stuff". Some of the Cannondale NOS Ohlins stuff was going for cheap on E-Bay a little while ago.
There was really not too much wrong with the original Cannondale engine design, other than they sounded like coffee cans filled with ball bearings. There were some reports of poor reliability and maintenance intensive ownership concerns. The biggest issue for them was that they were an unproven design, and their overall performance was no better than the Big 4 (5 - KTM).
I don't know all of the details, but IMHO, they tried to do their R/D AT the races. Bike kept breaking because the parts weren't thoroughly tested. Gave the whole program a reputation for unreliability. Keith Johnson couldn't even finish a race on the thing. It was a shame, really. I wanted to see them do well.
Greed will do them in
Hyosung was a poor mans sv650 but basically was selling for the same money.
So unless your MAMA owned the dealership wtf.
Harley must be spending a lot of time with Milwaukee's other famous product.
Kill the Buell sport bike
add
cheesy Korean and overpriced dirt bikes ???
I was around for Harley's Italian 2 stroke stuff.. All the Japs laughed
The economy will be in the sh*tter for a LONG time. If you are in the toy business you better face it and
get the business plan of pure survival until unemployment is down at 7% and credit is available.
