What dealership is this in? Anyone else heard of deals like this?
I have heard of deals like that.
Me wantey, the CR is wicked. BTW I know it's been said, but how many others seriously wouldn't be affected or even slightly twinged if H-D eventually went under?
Even more interesting would be if Yamaha or *anyone else* bought Buell and put in the proper support needed to grow the brand. Esp. w/ the popularity of street fighters and such, you really can't beat a stripped down Buell as far as aesthetic impact, they just look f*ckin mean.
I guess we can hope and pray that one day, those H-D boutique shops that are everywhere selling nothing but shirts and crap will be a thing of the past.

Don't we have a Buell dealer on here?
Buell dealerships around here still want all the money for them bikes. Explains why they still have them...
I tried REALLY hard to buy one this summer but no one would give a decent deal on them, I wanted one for 8,000.00 OTD.....
Now look what they are selling for.......:mope:
Kinda glad I grabbed a CBR now.
That's because it was below cost Eric.
I took at XB12SS for a test in Daytona and it was comfy and a blast for the half hour test ride. I just didn't have the coin for it.
As for Harley, I went to a dealer the other day and asked for a deal on an XR1200 and they would not budge despite the state Harley is in these days. They close plants. Close dealers. Lay people off. And then they don't sell you bike! Go figure! I mean, I told em, "Get another of these out on the road and the rolling advertising will pay off." But he didn't care. "Give me low interest." Nope.
So combine that with the Harley attitude and they close Buell. They should have opened Buell dealerships with a cafe in them. Finally, they should have realized that the 1125 has the motor we've been waiting for and given it a chance to get out there in the marketplace. Kill the old motored Buells if you have to. Don't kill the whole company.
It sucks even for us drag racing fans. Most of the NHRA Pro Stock Bike category is made up of Buell's. Soon we won't even see an American bike in a 100% American sport.
I always LOVED the look of a Buell naked - they pretty much define the look of the naked bikes on the market today.
received my Nov 2009 Roadracing World, lots of Buell ads, inside info on Buell, riding the 1125 article, and AMA wrapup of Buell wins. What a shame that HD has killed them.
I should stop in to Big Moose on my way in to work tomorrow... might still be a blast left!
an explanation for the $4,999 sale price  hmmm.. .
Harley-Davidson is paying dealers a $5,000 per-bike incentive for each new Buell they sell, irrespective of model. Until now, this incentive was top secret, with dealers and Harley employees under strict orders not to reveal it to the public or media. Oops.

Huh. Well, now that the cat's out of the bag, time to see if any of the local shops have some 1125CRs left. If the comments on that article are any indication of the general market, these bikes won't be around for long.
heck if the brand is picked up by Honda or investors and they continue the 1125 there is no risk of lost resale value. tempting...
