be easy now, i know I sound like everyother ass whos new, but what am i to do
Seriously though insurance companies?
used SV are prolly the best way to go. and if you are worried about insurance than SV is DEFINATLY the way to go. it doesnt say "ninja" on it. they will qualify that bike as a "standard". which means low risk. you get a EX250... it still says "ninja" on it and thats all the insurance cares about. even their new 650 says NINJA. it kills your rates. go with the SV.

go to an independent broker that carries several companies. they will tell you your best bet.

You're in MA, right? Doesn't matter much at all. I have Commerce like most people in MA do.

all right thanks for all the info.
I went for my permit today and waited for an hour just to be denied. The guy at the main desk told me all i needed was my liscense because all my info was already in the system. So a stand around for an hour and finally reach the desk, and am told then i need my SSC proof of residence etc, that place is like going in circle a hell hole i tell ya.
I will ask someone i know that had one. It was an 03 yeller one. I'll check
Sounds good bill
Well, that's the typical DMV for ya. Everytime I need to go there i have that feeling that something will go wrong. I think almost anyone can attest to that.
You'll get it soon enough.
And btw Looks like a good deal 2005 SUZUKI SV 650 S 3K REMUS EXHAUST

sv if you have some maturity
if not then a 500 twin

SV will give you some room to screw up.
It will also kick your butt if you do something stupid.
I am glad I was told to look at the SV when I wanted to get back into
motorcycling ... I was going to buy one, learn and trade up.
I am having so much fun with the SV that I am gonna pull a RandyO on it.
I may get another bike but I am keeping this one till I squeeze all the juices out of it!:
I've got four bikes insured through Commerce. They seem fine but I've never had to file a claim so can't comment on that aspect of service.
In MA it doesn't matter what your bike is (sport, cruiser, whatever). The noncompetitive, state-regulated (gotta love socialism) insurance industry draws no distinction on type, just engine displacement.
