I would certainly consider a car tires for a bike with a side car

motorcycle tires end up square anyway

Yah note what he is riding.

The Boss Hoss comes stock with a car tire.

Last I heard they don't corner too well either.

I hate this stuff with tires, there are so many guys out there who think they know soooo much more then the tire companies & bike manufacturers.

This is like the idiot VFR guys. They were all putting BT-010s on the front and BT-020s on the back. A Bridgestone rep comes on the board and says it's unnecessary and not recommended as the back tires already have harder compounds, and the 2 lines of tires are not designed to be mixed... Oh you should have seen the flames.

The guy IS right, tires are treated as black magic.

What is even funnier is he looks like he was running a snow tire???

I wonder if he considered whether 30 years ago there were 800lb bikes making 100+ hp at the wheel when he said modern tires are not an improvement.

"Note, NO wear on the sidewalls despite 23,000 + miles of...ur...enthusiastic abuse."

I'd pay $100 to see him riding on the sidewall of that down by the lettering.

Are studded snow tires an option?

When I was at my dealer last Saturday, they had a motocross knobby with what looked like over 100 studs on it hanging off the wall.

    Plaistow Powersports

So far they are treating me good.

I may not like their answers sometimes but I am not getting any bullshit like what I got in Nashua.

Yeah, back to that studded front motocross tire, it was pretty impressive to envision that on a bike and going riding on lake ice!

Those studded tires at Plaistow are mine. A lot of work goes into making those tires!

Actually the corner like total turds. I friend of mine has one, and Im not impressed with it at all. Gratned he doesnt have a car tire on the back but it still doesnt turn at all, and it scrapes all over the place when he does.

To tell the honest truth, its not as fast as I thought either. I can stay with him right up until around 100mph before he pulls. You would expext more from a V8

It's all because they can't put the power down to the road. They have so much torque you can do a roll-on at over 85MPH and smoke the rear tire. There is a good video out there shoing a ZX-12R running with a Boss Hoss and stomping it down simply because it can put the power down.

The Hoss actually drag races better with 2 people on it!

The guy who has the Boss .. would his first name be Milos by any chance? I used to work at the same company and he left to "go see the world."

A polite way of describing Best is that they know what they want and will to do whatever they can to get it. I don't believe they are willing to meet my needs as a customer.

It is a free country and I am willing to travel 45 miles to get what I am looking for. But then again I am a stubborn SOB and they are the same way.

    Car tires on a bike

I went to Best 3 times for a bike.
3 times they quoted me a price that was a grand over MSRP.

I went home pissed off the third time and got on the phone.

Second place I called had one in stock and I basically told them to give me an OTD price with no bullshit attached.

That is what I got and I turned around and bought well over a grand in gear and accessories from them.

I am happy and they are happy so business is good.

Plaistow used the bike to get me in the door and I will continue to reward them by driving 45 miles to get what I want and need.

Is it inconvenient ... yeah! Am I satisfied when I walk out the door? Yeah!

    No Problemo!

BTW. it is a nice ride over and a nice ride back if I take the long way home!

No, his name is Al. He just went down to Florida for the winter. He also had nitrous put on the Boss, so we will see what it can do now

WHY the fuck would you want an outdated middle of the road sportbike when you could go topline RR?

Because I hadn't ridden before and I was told by many people that the f4i was much easier to learn on than the RR. Anyways I made the right choice and got the 636.
