Re: Which chain/sprocket combo do I want to run?
A+ for motomummy...I've spent some good money on that site and the owner Corey is a great guy..Hes local to me here in central texas. Great service and prices.
Re: Which chain/sprocket combo do I want to run?
Funny name, but oh well. +1 on giving him some coin :D
Here's a pic of my set up, Driven sprocket with blue EK MVXZ 520, you can also see the rear brake line, Spiegler, that I got from him too. Of course it came with the dual fronts. Really nice lines.
Re: Which chain/sprocket combo do I want to run?
he said that when he was a noob he was on gixxer.com and asked why everyone had a mummy on the front fender of their bikes, and everyone shit on him for like 72 pages after that. haha

Is it just me or does that chain look like it has zero slack in it?
Might just be the angle.

They are fine. I've mounted PU steelies on a few bikes without complaints or issues.

I noticed that too tonight when I looked at the pic and wondered where the hell I learned how to tighten a chain.
But really, that was taken a few minutes after I finished riveting the master and tightening it all up. New chain lobbed with lithium grease, it was stiff as hell. Hence why I didn't clean the wheel while it was off, it was going to be a mess a few mins down the road...and a mess it was. And the left rear fairing and under tail.
Re: Which chain/sprocket combo do I want to run?
I just bought one of these from moto mummy. http://www.speedodrd.com/
It's a little cheaper than the Speedohealer and maybe just a tad harder to setup initially but does all the same functions and takes up way less space under the seat/undertail which was important to me.

Gotcha. Just lookin out for ya. :)
A tight chain is probably the #1 "offender" in tech inspection from my experience. You wouldn't believe how many people I see with chains as tight as piano strings. :( A loose chain is a happy chain, I say :naughty

:hijack: holy shit, they check chain tension in tech? I wonder if there's a full list of all the stuff they check in tech? Lemme guess... read my LRRS manual. I never knew they checked that though. Makes sense. Seems to me like tech is usually brakes, throttle return, pull the front down (steerer bearings?) and here's your sticker. Only thing I've ever been booted from tech for was a sticky throttle. Then again, they may not check the EXs as much as they check real motorcycles that actually go fast... :dunno:
Re: Which chain/sprocket combo do I want to run?
I ordered my last set from sprocketcenter.com
Swapped out the RK chain for a DID chain and it actually came out cheaper
Got both steel sprockets. ~$170 shipped.
call them and let them know what you want... provided excellent service and I'm going back there.
