Yeah. I've been seeing the ads ever since last week and I've been wondering about it. They keep saying that they are going to cover all aspects but we'll see how much attention is paid to the track vs. stunters.

The rat part was good, definetly good riders.
There is so much good riding all around there I would never ride in the city except to get the hell out. Oakland SUCKED big time when when I was there 20 years ago.

It's that whole hooligan/squid thing. I guess there's some appeal.

They are pretty much directly interchangeable with the cruiser/chopper guys.

They are doing the exact same things to their bikes and riding them exactly the same way... no difference other then what bike they start with.

And the cruisers & choppers are better bikes for that type of riding IMO.

(Not talking about stunters... talking about the bling bling sportbike crowd as seen up at motorcycle night... vests and all)

at least I've still got Build or Bust at 11... I like that show.

Yeah that stuff gets me going too. I loved how the Irish guy was stating how he finished his aerospace engineering apprenticeship back in Ireland and therefore all his bikes were fully engineered. Finite Element Analysis for your frames 100 bucks, damper mappings 50 bucks. He was cracking me up, as if Ireland ever made any thing that flew. The Rats seemed somewhat cool, not a lot of pretense there.

I was super bored at work a little while ago so i actually wrote a letter to SPEEDtv about it Here's

As a viewer, I found it entertaining. I like the fact that it shared some insight to the world of "streetfighters" and that there's another side to the "bling bling" world of the chromed out, stretched hyabusas that I can't stand. I'm all about performance & not so much about looks, and in this peacock ricer world, it was refreshing to see a bunch of guys riding the hell out of their bikes & not give a second thought to repainting their cracked and scratched matte black bike into some kind of a metallic-pearlescent-candy-airbrushed-ferarri-red-on-every-body-pannel-with-everything-else-chromed-show-bike-glamormobile.

From there i added a couple paragraphs where i went on to basically say "as a rider I wasn't all that impressed" and made a point to say

I found it INCREDIBLY ironic how one gentleman who appeared on the program was shown reciting the often used and very true line in the world of two wheels, "You need to ride as though everyone is out to kill you", just as you showed footage of him splitting lanes in busy traffic. If I were driving an automobile and truely wanted to kill him, it would be very easy for me to sandwich him between my big cage and a parked SUV, pinning him and either killing him outright or putting him out of comission for the rest of his life."

With that said, yeah... there's always gonna be a part of me that enjoys watching hooligans do their thang

Entertaining? sure... but i'm in SPEEDtv's viewer minority that would much rather watch racing & see shows that revolve around responsible sportriding that put us in a good light.

yeah... iwrote numerous letters to SPEED when they went from speedvision to just speed. two wheel tuesday used to be just that.... motorcycles ALL DAY. no matter what time you turned it on it was M/C. dirt track, trials, WSB, 500, 250, 125, WSS, AMA, BSB, Super X etc. it was awesome!! if you missed a race on sunday you KNEW you could see it on Tuesday.


Theeeen FOX took over and TWT turns into a show with some guy that i can barely stand talking bikes instead. WTF!!! now if you miss a race on Sunday... too fuckin bad! its insulting! they cant go one fuckin day without showing NASCAR? how many times do i have to watch to pit stop of car 20 on lap 157? of better yet... old NASCAR. i dont want to watch Cale Yarbourough... i want to watch Wayne Rainey!

you used to be able to see EVERTHING on Speedvision. everyday of the week.. even NASCAR. but also.. lawnmower racing, powerboats, go-peds, jet-skis, Austrailian touring car, indy car, F1, airplanes, semis, if you could race it... you could see it on speedvision.

Sorry but have to disagree.

All the street stuff in the Canyons sucked, did you see footage of them taking corners and going over the yellow lines?! "Dude hold your line!" Then they get busted by the cops and their all laughing and denying and even talking about running.

Just not the way I like the "lifestyle" to be represented.

I did like the bike night and all the stuff at the track was cool.

Am I too sensitive about the other stuff?

I am just saying it could be better. Less ricer wanna be squidlyness and more mature stunter/racer. At least they are wearing the right gear most of the time.

I didn't say it was perfect, I said it was much better this week. If you saw last weeks you'd know how terrible it was and therefore couldn't possibly disagree w/ my statment.
