To cover up my fuck up

Well, like i described in my FML thread, I scratched the front of the new bike with my front stand . . .



The scratches are actually bigger than they appear in the above photo. So, I've thought about doing a cover up. Any thoughts to these (disregard the red lights):

Since some of the lettering on the bike is blue:

Another quality post from a Ducati owner. The bike has less than 200 miles on it. It should look near perfect for a while, shouldn't it? Aren't you the one who cleans his bike with a fucking q-tip anyway and stores it in his house??

Didn't quite work out like I planned. have to primer it, since the scratches went down to the plastic and the color doesn't look quite right.

Your overthinking it. Dont say anything and if anyone asks a bug hit it and scratched the shit outa it.. or a rock. and unless your really good with a spray gun and masking off areas, that'll be tough.

Chuck, I gotta be honest... that does sound a lot more fun than regular touch-up paint

But the second option looks pretty slick.

It's always that first scratch that is the worst.

I'd just track it with a scratch that big, nothing else you can really do with it at this point.

Just a plain gloss black would work, since the lower is gloss black without the metal flake.

It will eventually end up in the scrap yard along with all the other purty pieces of inanimate objects.

All the energy used to obsess about perfection can be used to ride the piss out of it with a big fat grin on your face.

Another way of looking at it ... what are you going to do when your wife gets wrinkles on her face and her boobs start sagging? Nip and Tuck?

Life is too fricken short to worry about a ding.

The paint around the "Honda is flat black and it's part of the windscreen (which has been replaced with a dark smoke DB anyway)

What good story? I was trying to get my bike up on the front stand and the asshat that I am forgot to put something between a metal bar and the paint to protect it?

I'd rather if a rock hit it. At least it's something I didn't do to it stupidly.

How about a pin stripe kit - just follow the natural lines with a stripe that is wide enough to cover the scratchs?

Then if you get tired of it you can always take it off and paint later. I had a scratch on the back of my bike where it hit the wire on my garage door when I was putting it away one day. The pinstripe look good and totally covered the scratch.

Problem solved. The Arai Corsair V I bought from Mr Duncan came with mini Arai stickers. One was almost perfect to cover both sides.

Now I can move on with my life.
