Dang O Dang

Well I got my poor ol bike inside tonite and up on the lift.........
Between the 2 bikes I should have bout everything other then lowers' and a good upper.....
I just torn off the forks & wheel......I got 1 bent fork for sure:mad: And I'm not sure bout the front wheel and rotor's:dunno: I need some help w/ a positive check on the wheel, rotor's and the "other" forks on parts bike:dunno:
Oil cooler is toast along with right side rearset , But I gots good ones..... I got another headlight too.....the upper fairing stay (which mount's the gauges, headlite, mirror's , oil cooler, rad. ,etc) is really mangled......The one on the parts bike in kinda bent but is much straighter then current so I'll just have to work it a bit:hmm: speedo got smashed in the back so I be yanking that from the parts bike which bring up a ??
Am I gonna run into any problem if I swap speedo's as the milage will then differ from Org. .....I mention this as I will most likly need to get another new inspection sticker

Only if you try to sell it without informing the buyer. There should be a spot on the back of the title soleley for the purpose of informing the buyer that the odometer is not accurate.

Lemme know if you need any special tools to check wheel runout and stuff. I gots plenty.

Actually I really could use the proper tools to test my wheel runout etc:poke: Anychance you plan on being up this way before this weekend????
My only real concern is check for warpage w/ the wheel & rotors, as Ive never tested that type of shit:dunno:

I just want to give you "mad props" for wearing your gear.

I never saw you wearing any gear last year, you've come a long way since then. Good to hear that you didn't get hurt.

Hopefully you can get the bike back together, that bike is fairly unique at this point. Yours is the only one I've ever seen, it would stink if one more has to disappear from the roads.

I thought you went option 3 chain link fence.


Maybe the chain link has some give to it.

Well good news is...............
I got her put back to gether........
BUT...I got s a lil qustion/problem............It seems as though the top tripple tree is turned just a lil bit:dunno:
Is it possable to correct this????

I'd say you need to dig into the parts bike a bit more and swap the triple tree (top and bottom) too.

So what "makes" the top & bottom "tree's" line up with eachother???

Just the fork tubes. I made an assumption that you had one tube in and could not get the other to line up. If you did not have any tubes in, the two parts can be completely independant in their relationship to one another. If you have not put a fork tube in yet, try it and see if the other side aligns. You may need to loosen up the top nut on the triple tree to get the top and bottom parts loose enough to move relative to eachother.

Ok I guess I need to fill ya in a bit....
I replace the forka w/ spare set, Used Org. wheel w/ spare rotors.... Bike is all bake together and I test rode it once.....
I'm now second guessing an issue with the tree's........I eye suck at being able to tell true straight.....I think that the fairing stay be be a lil cocked and making think that the steering is cocked abit.....
I was able to slide both forks into the tree's but had a lil bit of a tough go on one side going into the upper tree...(I just soaked it down and then it slide in ok:hmm:
I'm workin on patching up some sorta upper faring so I can have a head lite, signals etc to retest ride it

If yolu were able to get the tube in the tree wiuth just lubricant and no hammer, it should be just fine. My money's on a bent fairing stay but your frame *could* be tweaked... Hope not.

Was it stable in the test ride?

I would say the bike was as stable as "I" was.....It was only a quick 1mile ride......I wasn't wearing my gear:rolleyes: So I felt really uncomfortable

I'd keep working on it and not worry about the forks/triple tree for now.

One of those I'm just going around the block to warm up the chain and whamo on my ass.

Totalled the GIRLS bike. Road rash collapsed lung. Lots of couch riding.

DAMN Keith......So so sorry to hear......sounds like your body got it bad if you had to stay in da hospital:dunno: Heal up quick dude.....Lucakly I was only a couple days......Gotta love Aircast's

Well after two long days, help from friends & Advice from fellow member I was able to take my bike from being totally wrecked to being streetable agian.....
Granted its NOT as pretty as it was but I'm getting to like the look of pop rivits across my fairings:bs:

Atleast I'll be able to roll into stonnerstock on my own bike
