good deal?

well as a few of you know im looking for a bike to buy. been eyeing the buell and the triumphs. but my cousin decided he wanted to sell his 1998 cbr600 f3 smokin joes for 3500. its got 6k on the clock, three of which i put on this summer. Is this a good price for it? i did all the maintence on it this summer. just wondering if a bike that old needs anything that would cost me an arm and a leg.

I had a used 95 F3 and I did nothing to it and it
ran fine for me for 20,000 miles in 3 years.

I think the price is good for that little mileage.
I wonder though how you get a bike that old and that fun with only
6k on the odometer?

well he bought it two summers ago from a family friend who never rode it. He got with 2k on the clock. he rode it for a couple hundred then put it away for the winter. fast forward to last summer, i got my licence, didnt have a bike, and he was in nj for work so he told me to take the bike out. so i put 4k on the clock lol. Whats family for right?

Seems like the motors are a good mill. havnt heard anything bad about them from anyone ive ever talked to. just need to find a way to get rid of that banana seat havnt had too much luck finding a solo tail for it. only thing keeping me from buying it is the dated look of that ugly tail

I'd hardly call a 4,000 mile test ride an impulse buy. Congrats. That bike should give you many years of blissful riding. And don't worry too much about the looks of the bike; it's what's on the inside that counts.

I was thinking of picking one of these up for myself. We could be identical bike twins.

haha 4k test ride, never thought about it that way haha. i had a ton of fun on it to an extent since it wasnt mine but it was comfy, fast and fun. yay i got my own bike now and got lots of money left

Yours is 1998 thats a 2000 Clean and its not lost from the 80'S PAINT SCHEME......LOLOLOL Just kiddn good deal there out there just gotta look...but congrats and enjoy it..

Aint NOTHIN wrong with the tail section on that bike.

Leave it as is & keep the bike all original. 3500 bucks sounds like a lot for a 10 year old bike & it is, but if you keep it all original in pristine condition and find the right buyer you could make your money back & maybe more in a few years. Treat it like the investment piece it is.
